Sona is a support who needs a lot more XP and money then any other support to do well
And this is why we will never see her in games higher then plat

Stop trying to get them to do something with sona, she is fine where she is. You just have to learn to itemize and play her right.
It's not like they are planning to change Sona in the near future or anything oh wait
Changes doesn't mean making her stronger, dude.
Riot and Sona's playerbase seem to agree on one thing: Sona has plenty of power, some of it's just invisible. The changes aren't supposed to make her stronger overall, people just want her to feel more impactful and for some newer players, "Fun to play," while preserving her identity.
It's not an easy task, otherwise Riot would have done it already in the past years.
Except we DON'T agree on that. Matter-of-fact is Sona is the weakest character in the game with next to no power whatsoever. FFS HER TOP FUCKING ITEMS ARE ALL ARTIFICIAL NUMBERS. ON A FUCKING SUPPORT. Think logically for half a fucking second about what that tells you: she does no damage without fake numbers; she doesn't have a usable kit to make up for her lack of damage; she has NO power in her kit, invisible or otherwise; she doesn't work as a support. Can she solo lane? Fuck no. She doesn't work as a character in this game, she doesn't have a place in League anymore and patch 4.13 was the direct cause of this.

53% winrate in Platinum and higher.
You guys jerk off too much to her...there is no way any sane person can really complain about Sona right now.
Utilize her passive for something more than damage, know how to time the W, realize her E is actually useful at certain points in the game, and use her ult effectively.
She's pretty decent if you play her right. She has one purely offensive spell, the rest of her entire kit has some surprisingly useful utility. If you keep expecting her to play like an AP carry as a support, then that's your fault.

This. Right here. I've had a few times a quick e+passive empowered auto got my adc, or another teammate, a kill from the slow it applied.
Serious note: People underestimate Sona. Yeah, she got nerfed like every patch that one season, but she's still viable nowadays so that really says something.
Silly note: I find it funny that the Sona mains (and former mains) are the ones telling OP that she isn't so weak. All about dat perspective.

=u= no one must know im a sona main. SHHHH
But she really isnt that weak if you know how to play her.

Exactly, said exactly what i wanted to say, but i am far to lazy to type that all out right now. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ my grammar AMAZING!!!
Funny how she has 51% winrate in Diamond+ and was played in the LCS.
Also she has 57% winrate for 120+ games played.
Talks about Sona not being used higher than plat, is used at international tournament full of top teams.
Twice in the entirety of the whole season, as a last crutch pick because all supports they played were unavailable and he used her as a glorified stunbot who needed flash everytime to initiate
Yet it worked well.

I remember watching that game and seeing Aphromoo constantly making sure his auras applied to every possible target.

Against a natural hard-counter only as a counter-picking option once.
By this logic we shouldn't rework Urgot since the same thing happened last year.
Urgot was fairly popular for a while, picked pretty much whenever open. Sona as you stated was picked for a counter pick once, despite this, it still means Sona is viable above plat, contrary to OP's post.

Having a generalist champion relegated to counter-picks only isn't exactly "healthy design". There's no reason why Sona shouldn't get a rework. Her last rework didn't hit any of the marks it was intended to hit.
Still has a good deal of invisible power
Still toxic when she's a strong pick (thus it's rare she is, but think back to preseason when FQC was strong)
Still hard to notice or appreciate due to that invisible power
Worst off: all that invisible power is in areas no one really cares about. Still, the boards won't ever change on this front, so I personally said "fuck it".
I didn't claim she had a healthy design, I just said she's viable above plat and can win. All of your reasons involve invisible power (even the second via toxic using her invisible power to carry), like find other things rather than just restating the same thing 3 times. Don't look for arguments where there are none.

Well, put it this way:
She's a "highly situational" generalist champ that's easily blown up by coordinated play against much of the bot lane roster. All of her basic spells are in one of Nami's moves (on a smaller scale to be fair), and her niche of "aoe protective aura stuff" is done better by Taric in its entirety. Is she objectively viable? Given LoL's design, every champ in the game is viable to some degree, since they "can" work, even Urgot. Is this a reason to leave a champ in a state where hardly anyone appreciates that champ, or where that viability is rarely showcased? No, not really. Not everyone's going to be a high tier, meta pick at one time, but I don't see anyone ever saying "Thank goodness we got Sona on OUR team" or anything comparable.
Coordinated play always happens in an international tournament with top teams, which MSI was, and Sona worked in it. Again, I'm just saying she's viable above plat and there is significant evidence showing it.

I mean, we already went over the MSI thing and the viability thing. At this point this conversation's going in circles.
Yeah, because you keep trying to change what the main point was which was all I cared about.

Cause it barely means anything.
Its literally the thing disproving the original person's complaint, that's what I was responding to, not your claims of healthy design and shit.

With that said, no champ should be reworked for viability's sake because just about every champ can possibly work. The difference between someone like Janna over someone like Teemo is that Janna doesn't have to wait on her thumbs to hopefully be useful. She's plenty useful as is without needing to get fed off of items. The issue the op is harping on specifically is that Sona as an option is crowded out by a bunch of other options, mainly Janna and Nami, and her only remaining thing to do is be oppressive every so often through counter-picking or just getting a good laning phase, but anyone can do that anyway.
It's just sort of a moot point to the bigger picture.
Dude, I literally do not give a shit about reworks or specifics. I just was saying Sona is used above plat level, for the love of god stop going in depth.
Well, put it this way:
but I don't see anyone ever saying "Thank goodness we got Sona on OUR team" or anything comparable.
On the contrary, I quite often see people saying, "Thank goodness the enemy got Sona on THEIR team, this is a free game." and it almost always is. Hell, I won't even play with a Sona on my own team, that's a 100% guaranteed dodge, even in the last game of a series.
Sona doesn't NEED flash every time to initiate. You can do a good initiate with just her E depending on your build.
While my build varies, I tend you have some good MS after a few items.
Her E will only give her enough speed to initate if she is full AP, in what case you should not be initiating because you will get killed shortly after because you are full AP And a tanky Sona who can take a bit of heat will have next to no AP making her E unable to be used for proper initiation
That's because Sona's kit inherently has a low amount of mechanic skill involved, giving her very little outplay potential in most situations. The largest deciding factor between a good Sona and a bad Sona is game sense and fundamentals, things like knowing how and when to trade, when the best time to ult is, when to actually use a green or purple power chord instead of blue every single time, when and where to roam and ward, positioning and teamfighting etc.
Of course, the flip side of this is that because she lacks any mechanical means to outplay her opponents the second biggest factor regarding winning trades or helping in fights is raw numbers. Hence she's the most gold dependent and xp dependent support. Whether Hymn of Valor does X amount of damage can often be a sole deciding factor in a trade bot lane with little to no way to differentiate a good hymn from a bad one (again, aside from fundamentals that apply to all champions and the game at large like positioning and dodging enemy skillshots.)
She has a higher pickrate in diamond than plat.
"never see her in games higher then plat"
She has above 50% winrate but she is appearently garbage.
Go back under your rock OP.
The EXP problem is a problem for all supports right now... I think that is something that should be looked at.
