Why are Sustained Damage Champions getting a Keystone for burst-based Champions?
This scummy little mastery is being picked on AD Carries, on Bruisers (read: Bruisers such as Jax and Xin as opposed to Juggernauts such as Darius and Illaoi) and Magey Mages (Cass, Ryze and so on and so forth).
This is clearly not what Riot had in mind when they made it. Why is it still even a thing?
Most things like this usually have an exception on AoE and DoT abilities. DEATHFIRE TOUCH LITERALLY HAS AN EXCEPTION FOR AOE AND DOT ABILITIES.
In a perfect world:
- Auto-attacks would not trigger TD.
- DoT and AoE abilities would either a) not trigger TD OR b) it would trigger at 1/3rd of the rate just like Spell Vamp and Deathfire TOuch and countless other mechanics.
Prior to this season, an AD Carry WOULD NEVER forego a % Armor Pen Mastery, or a Mastery that allows you to deal up to 112 extra Physic Damage on Auto-Attacks, or a Heal of up to 25% of your Critical Strike Damage + 30% Attack Speed for merely Critting.
It's honestly f*cked up that a champion who generally never reaches 40% CDR let alone 45% would get Intelligence over 7% Armor Pen just so that they can get TD.
TL;DR - Yeah, this is a bit of a rant. I just don't like the concept of a Keystone Mastery that was clearly developed with Assassins and Burst Mages in mind becoming a staple core on a majority of roles and champions with few exceptions. It wasn't made for sustained damage dealers like AD Carries or Mages like Xerath and Vel'Koz. It wasn't made for Tanks and Bruisers and Supports. If Riot is cool with this, good for them. But I'm disgusted that something like this could be viable, let alone FotM and strong. I don't enjoy the prospect of a Lucian being able to Piercing Light ---> Lightslinger me for half of my HP at level 3.
#NOTE: I also refuse to use Thunderlord's Degree on anything but Burst Mages and Assassins on principle. I used it once on release on Lucian and stopped BECAUSE I FIGURED THAT IT WOULD BE ABILITY ONLY BY THE NEXT PATCH.
