Had to dodge 2 games because autofilled players keep saying "I don't play this role" and one even tried to lock in a different role. A 30 minute queue timer for your system's flaws seems a little unfair.

Had similar incident last night. Player say they were auto filled jungle, picked Karma, and then announced they would feed. My duo partner dodged so we could avoid that hot mess, but got stuck waiting 5 min before we could que again, even though we did nothing wrong.

General Esdeath 2 votesBecause we can't see who gets autofilled means it's OK. I'd rather climb by fighting 5 people in the preferred role along with 4 team mates in the preferred role.
LostFr0st1 votesThat's all fine and dandy to say, but they wouldn't have brought back autofill if it wasn't for the extreme role discrepancy which lead to 20-30+min queue times in any elo but silver season 6.
General Esdeath 1 votesThere are plenty of support mains, and if it was only for support I wouldn't mind. But you can be filled top, mid, jg, or adc too.

General Esdeath 1 votesIt's not just support though. I've been filled ADC far more than support, and I don't think it's just because I queue as support sometimes.
LostFr0st1 votesAgain, doesn't matter. Support is the one you can reliably gain autofill protection with so you play support for a game in between a couple other games in the roles that you prefer. Then voila, no unexpected autofill.
If everyone did this then the role label for autofill protection would rotate instead of just being for queueing support or random autofill when you're not expecting it. I'd prefer knowing what the "fill" role will be, and knowing when I'll get filled (aka never since I consciously weave in those support games).

LostFr0st1 votesNo, you're right, you can't get them to do that. But you can do that an you can tell your buddies the trick so they can use it.
There is something different you can try though:
Since the enemy team is going to be just as dumb as yours, chances are you can outmaneuver them by leading your team with blue pings (not the omw or other pings, only the blue ones since they don't make you take the blame :D ) Bonus points if you can manipulate them into taking a champ with waveclear, but that's super hard and must be done very delicately.
