Riot removes Ahri's 20% dmg up and gives it to...

Fizz . At first i thought they removed it from ahri because DFG "isn't healthy". According to riot it is healthy on fizz however.

Nerfs everywhere else on him and it's on his ult instead of a much lower cooldown charm.

I think it's okay on fizz, but I also think it should have stayed on ahri. She'd have been fine with dfg removed, possibly buff her numbers if necessary.

I'd have to play her to be sure. With the mobility on q she might become a lot better at roaming and at dodging skillshots in Lane. Not to mention it gives her a non-ultimate escape-the-gank ability.

I'm just disappointed that there will no longer be any pre 6 solo kills that let her snowball in to a huge map threat. Kiting only works if people want to chase you... If she's ahead everyone will want to get away from herher :p

It's still mobility in general. Pair her dashes with a single-target yet AoE rylai slow and a little ms from Q and you can absolutely chase them down... just make sure you don't get too close.

His numbers got hit pretty hard.

not his e :(

But now, if he uses his E to engage for that missing damage, he can't use it to escape~

I'll laugh my ass off once people realize what 10% missing health every AA means.

It means that bruiser fizz is probably going overtake AP assassin fizz, using the shark + AA enhancement to rip someone apart in a few autos. However he did lose grievous wounds for it so he might actually be weaker if he can't get 2+ additional autos in. (I haven't math'd it yet though)

I think the damage amp on Fizz is pretty good.

It makes him more reliant on landing a skillshot rather than nuking you down with targeted or near-targeted abilities, and his ultimate being down means that you now have the ability to play against Fizz a lot easier because his targeted damage is so much lower.

If anything, Fizz is still going to be able to kill his opponents easily, but the difference now is that Fizz will now be a lot healthier assassin because he can no longer come out of nowhere and instagib you, unless he lands Chum the Waters first.

Or at least that is how I see it as someone who doesn't play Fizz.

His laning phase or just times in general when he doesn't have his Ult will be a little harsh for him, also it'll give the enemy a huge warning sign that he's bound to attack more now XD.

Either way this is an interesting thing to see and let's see if this will make people overlook his E now XD

That is exactly what I think this change is trying to do.

He's going to be a little bit weaker when he should be weaker, moreso in the laning phase, while using his ult tells the enemy that he's going to attack before he attacks, giving his opponents enough time to react to his burst.

I don't like the damage amp, and would have preferred that they just did some smallish number tweaks (just shave damage off of his q and e) rather than move it into the ulty. The reason is now he is just like Akali and Zed where if he gets 6 first, you die. I personally don't think that is a healthy play pattern to promote especially considering how hard it is to whiff the shark.

Jungle Lux God1 votes

If Fizz gets 6 first, you may die, but Fizz still has to land his Chum the Waters first, but considering how weak Fizz is currently in the laning phase (I think he's weak...) and how much worse his laning is getting, there isn't much of a possibility of Fizz getting 6 first, let alone being even in CS, which is also the case with Akali.

His laning is strong, when he is ahead. However he needs that level 3 powerspike that lets laning be at least bearable. I think he is in a good spot now and that this nerf/change is only going to make people madder (what do you mean ur AA's oneshot me now?)

I love fizz and hope that they seriously consider anything else than their current choice, but riot is stubborn (ie. Cass / Karma / Trundle) so we really won't be able to change their opinion unless the characters name is Lee Sin reverting nerfs is near impossible.

Here's the thing. They did not originally intend for Ahri to have the playstyle of an assassin. Since they were removing DFG, they saw the opportunity to remove that playstyle and emphasize her kite/mage mechanics.

They have always wanted Fizz to be an assassin. Also, this is a nerf to fizz. His ratios are much worse without the damage amp and marginally worse even with it. BTW, the shark isn't exactly something you can spam in a team fight.

Why are you complaining about them nerfing someone you've wanted them to nerf for a year?

Moved to a long CD spell that isn't even part of Fizz's current damage rotation.

Btw whats his damage ratios now?

20% damage amp with lich bain is going to be problematic (that's just my opinion) he will probably see some more nerfs after that change. Ahri however already dealt enough damage without dfg. A champion with the best form of cc and mobility shouldn't be 1 shotting you but kiting you and dealing decent damage. Imo they should just deal away with damage amp and give champions increased numbers, but then again fizz was able to obliterate any squishy late game without dfg, dfg was just over kill on them.

The reason for removing the amp from Ahri was to create an incentive for playing her as a kiting mage rather than an assassin. The Q movement speed cements this playstyle.

The reason for adding an amp to Fizz is to keep his current assassination potential against one enemy. An overall lowering of his damage without the amp should prevent him from completely destroying most not-horribly-out-of-position enemies unless he is fed (in which case he deserves a reward...).

In other news, how will jungle Fizz work with the W changes?

Ahri never was a kiting mage though, apart from her ultimate perhaps, so its just a bad rework attempt that is not received well.

Actually, she was a kiting mage. The only reason that people know Ahri as an assassin was because her kiting build got nerfed hard, so people started building DFG on her cause her scaling was crap.

They really are hitting fizz hard. He's going to be useless after the nerfs

Cindikle1 votes

Overall his damage on an ulted target is almost the same.

But he's hit quite hard outside of that. What makes Fizz so strong is that he doesn't require his ult to get kills. It's also part of what makes him so frustrating.

Now his un-ulted damage is hit quite hard. And if someone eats the ult for you(A tank?) his ability to assassin a squishy is hurt really bad.

This change is a nerf. And he will likely see buffs to improve his lanning if these go through.
