i mean she does nothing except press W and heals you to full with 1 or 2 casts with an occasional R to heall entire team. there is no planning, there is no thought, its just brain dead actions. literally. this is not a salt or rage post, its a truth post. soraka is a classic early 2000s point and click MMO healer. thats literally what she is right down to her very core and it just should not exist in a MOBA game of any type, let alone league.

nami is a better example of a healer in a moba game. she does other things that imbacks BOTH teams in a very huge way. soraka on the other hand is just so 1 dimensional and brainless that you would litterally have to be a brand spanking new player to fail at her

Soraka is intended to be an introductory character. She is designed to be simple so that people who have no experience playing as supports or with the game can pick her up easily, in the same way as Sona.

Case in point, a mate of mine who's never played a Moba before wanted to try it out. Found someone like ANNIE to be too confusing and complex. Found both Sona and Soraka to be really simple. Derp.

Because I'm sure you, like every other person who plays League for the first time, was immediately Gold tier and knew exactly what they were doing. You're right. My friend should stop playing. I'll tell them now.

They have already nerfed her Q range, so she is easier to punish, especially as an opposing support. What you do when you are up against a Soraka is focus her from level 1. If she has low health, she cannot heal and is kind of useless. Ruin her early game, and you have won the laning phase.

Soraka has -skillshot dmg with more difficult soft CC -a heal -skillshot CC with more difficult CC -and an ultimate that also heal

like...she has dmg, a silence, a slow, a root, and healing (lotsa healing)

but honestly, this sounds like a QQ post from someone who hasn't actually put the time into learning Soraka (dat, GRANTED what ur describing is a laning playstyle that I like using as Soraka: the imma afk and spam W while adc trades with bot lane build

but here's the weird issue with it A LOT of players (both allies and enemy players) don't know how to play with or against it, cause of how straightforward it is. Ally ADCs can make the build backfire by:

expecting U to attempt trades when your Q still has only 70 base dmg by levels 4/5/6/7
not realizing that the enemy support and/or adc is passively tunnel-visioning your Soraka (preventing her from attempting trades)
letting the enemy freely harass them (this one actually isn't too bad compared to the others)
performs an all-in when both sides are at full hp
