I just miss my tenacity. Is this another stat that's going to go the way of Grievous Wounds on anyone not named Irelia?

Garen was stronger before his rework lol. He had more everything.

Passive - More sustain Q - Stronger MS buff, longer silence W - Free 20% more AR/MR, removed Slows, free 30% Tenacity E - More damage up until level 16

The only thing that changed is that the can potentially deal true damage to one member of the enemy team at a time, and with how wonky the Villain system is, it could be the 1-5 Janna who's the Villain and not the 20-1 Vayne.

I don't think Garen is that overpowered now aside from him winning lane against almost anybody, but I really don't want the old Garen back and I don't think he should be buffed. He was absolute cancer and just unfair to fight. Run at you at 600 MS, silence you, spin on you, and then retreat and regen all of his health back instantly. His laning phase was so boring and there was little counterplay to it since his silence prevented you from disengaging and his MS buff was really big and had a huge duration for a tank champ.

The +30 armor and MR isn't nothing, and compliments his itemization well (early HP) but it's weird

True, but he got 20% of his max AR/MR and he didn't have to do anything to get it but buy items. If he had 400 Armor, that would be an extra 80 Armor I believe as an example.

I think they changed it to a flat number based on CS so that he still gets the same bonus no matter what he builds. It's a nerf to tanky Garen and a buff to more damage heavy Garen's survivability.

I mained old Garen. Got bored of him a month before his rework. Don't like his rework. He feels weaker. I'm used to being tankier.

Also yeah the W now means build hp.

The flat MR and armour is stronger in the early game, and his E, which is the majority of his damage, was given much better scaling. His armour growth as increased, as was his AD growth (and since his abilities scale with total AD, that's a pretty big deal). His AA range is now 175, which is a huge advantage against melee laners.

Oh, and the Villain mechanic is super fucking strong, and usually reliable. He doesn't actually need it to kill the enemy ADC, but if they're the Villain and Garen gets on them their death is nearly assured.

They shaved some early game power off of him for the sake of giving him a better late game, and he's definitely better overall.

Oh yeah, and the new juggernaut items are incredibly good on him. Sterak's and Deadman's 2strong.

Sorry, but you're objectively wrong.

Many, maybe most, of his base stats were given buffs, as I detailed.

Did you read my post, or are you just in denial?
