I've been picking up steam with Ziggs lately and I think he has potential.

At least in competitive games where there are fewer variables to account for.

In my 5s team I played 2 Ziggs games about a week apart and in both I took 10 towers.

The only 10 towers taken either game.

It's honestly hilarious.

"Hm, could he be trying to say that a siege mid is absolutely incredible at sieging, especially when he's got a familiar team he knows can protect him?

Nah he must be trolling."

That's you right now.

He has always had the potential... I mean as long as he is picked into the game correctly and the jungler is able to support if down or at a disadvantage then yeah he can make seiges for a team hell.

I pretty much only pick Ziggs as a counterpick for that reason. Only thing to really worry about though is Zed or LeBlanc.

Indeed I think there is more to worry about than just Zed and Leblanc. For example I would be worried about AurelionSol Syndra Kassadin Cassiopeia. Partly because side stepping his q where is primary source of damage is from is easy enough.

Kassadin gives him trouble but he's not played enough to really be worth the trouble. Plus Ziggs can usually afk farm out that lane with his super long ranges.

Syndra and Cassie aren't issues unless you get outplayed. Neither is Sol. That's just a shitfest of farming and you have an easier time doing work late game anyways.

Afk farming isn't an answer to a problem it just grows until it effects more than your lane. Kassadin would just shove, walk bot blow up that lane and return. Cassie well you cannot escape her she will bully you into afk farming. Syndra well she is closer to a skill match up, however a good one will catch you and out trade you as your cooldown are much longer in some cases. Sol will shove your wave level one look to do something and repeat.

As a ziggs main I've known it. Just gotta learn matchups. Amazing wave clear and sieging if that's your thing. If only I tried to play ranked more

Ziggs is at a strange point at the moment. (i have lvl 6 mastery on him)

unless you lane opponent somehow gets a crazy advantage by either counterpicking you, killing you early , or getting fed by roaming o u cant fight them and push lane, or you just flat out camped all game, or your other lanes somehow do so bad they manage to lose first turret before you take one (and they would have to do REALLY bad for this to happen) you are almost guaranteed first tower blood as a ziggs. especially if your jungler gives you blue

after that first tower kill you should have a gold lead an an item up on your opponent

ziggs really isn't that strong even he is even on gold.. but the fact that you can almost always get a guaranteed 650 gold lead just from having your passive and your W. is what makes him at last somewhat viable.

becuase ziggs is a absolute monster at splitpushing, you let him get near a tower for 5 or so seconds after the 20 or so min mark and its gone.

but at the same time.. his escape is REALLY unreliable unless your team can back you up

How do you even land Q though? On a ranged champion. With a brain.

I try him every now and then but feels completely troll win or lose because he's simply unreliable at making his own advantage.

He can be pretty good late game but...

Maybe if I expend satchel charge to start every trade...

If they get close to the wave, hit the wave.

Otherwise use it to farm from long range and use your W/E as zone control tools.

You rarely hit your spells as Ziggs, unless they're super close and you can hit them before the first bounce, and you have to accept that. Ziggs has higher than average burst with QR being able to 100-0 a squishy late-game if you get a lead in gold but at the cost of his spells being tough to land. So the trick is instead force your opponent to make the decision to either walk through your zone and all that bullshit to trade with you (and inevitably lose because in the instances Ziggs lands his kit he outtrades anyone) or be forced to stand back while he sieges.

45% cdr makes it easier to spam, I just buy tear now and farm from fog of war in losing lanes or spam in even ones. If you get to mid-late you do more damage then anything that isn't karthus :^)

But seriously if you are in w range you can w into qr to oneshot a squishy mid-late game before they can flash.

You executed 10 towers*. You were not doing all the work solo

That's 2400 damage with passive on, Ziggs does work on towers. Especially if you can run a coordinated team to rotate around.

I executed like 4-5, the rest was me doing primarily/almost all of the damage myself.

its very hard to land on his potential

literally.

It's probably gonna take people more time to realize his true power, since siege and tough objective control is something most players can't grasp especially at this moment. But "hurr durr his damage is unreliable so therefore he's bad!!!!!"

Which reminds me a while back I came across a Ziggs main who did just that and carried the game almost singlehandedly through objective control.
