clearing up some misconceptions about atmas impaler before its rereleased
ive seen people get hung up on the % health to ad conversion on the item, and dont really take the whole picture into consideration.
lets assume youre on a lategame item build and playing a 4000 health bruiser.
at this point, atmas will grant the following stats:
30 armor, 30 mr, and 45 AD
thats it. before youre fighting someone long enough, the stats on the item are downright terrible for a 2900 gold price tag.
when fighting enemy champions, the values will stack up to
30 armor, 30 mr, and 125 AD
now, thats obviously a lot of ad. but there are still two main factors to remember
-
it takes 5 seconds of being in combat with enemy champions to stack it up that far (minions and non epic monsters dont count)
-
to reach values like this, you have to reach a full item build, run resolve as rune path, and get to lvl 18. these values are very lategame.
even then, compared to other big AD items like
, its not as crazy as it seems when you take into consideration, that the difference in stats is 45 ad before you take the other items passive into account.
where atmas grants 45 more ad at lvl 18 ona full build, after 5 seconds in combat, hydra has its cleave passive and auto attack reset that make up for the difference in raw stats, and then some to the point that its 600 gold more expensive.
around midgame, atmas would have about equal stat value at its best case scenario before taking hydras passive into account.
used to buy it, since he was the only fighter who really made effective use of all its base stats (including the critical strike).
