Can we stop releasing new champions?

At least until all of the game's current balance issues are dealt with? Adding a new champion in the middle of a balance hellstorm just adds fuel to an already out of control fire

Edit: The first step to fixing a problem is realizing there is one. The fact that this thread seems to be trending towards getting downvoted into oblivion shows that players haven't reached that step yet.

Stop at 150. Don't repeat pokemon's big mistake.

Riot: "we heard you! 150 more are in the works"

noooooo

But seriously, in case they come here and see this, more than 150 only works for pokemon because of evolutions. After gen 2, it got out of hand. You can't keep track of them all now unless you are freakin' obsessed. 150 unique champions is a lot to keep track of. After that, barrier to entry in the game is gonna get incredibly high.

Nope. Balance isn't something that is ever achieved in games that want to continue evolving. Adding a new champ isn't going to make already existing problems worse, nor better. Besides, there will always be a few outliers and we have the preseason on the horizon, the time for big changes is now and there is nothing wrong with it.

You'll forgive me if I'm not a huge fan of the "Let's sweep all of the old changes that hurt the game to the side (AKA never fix them) and bring in even more change (balance problems) to distract from the fact that we didn't fix anything" strategy. Adding a new champion to the mix ALWAYS presents balance problems. How does this champion interact with these items? How do these game mechanics interact with this champion? Will this champion be too strong or too weak in comparison to what is already out there? Will there be an abusive combination of items and runes that will throw this champion over the top?

You can't just say new champions don't affect the game one way or another. Because they do.

I'd rather have new champions than more broken reworks.

How many more Zoe's need to happen? How many more Kai'sa's? Camille's? You can't pretend reworks are the problem with the game and ignore the huge problems other champion releases were.

Or perhaps untill Riot's designers get a single creative brain cell in their hack bodies.

I think League's biggest problem is that the balance team doesn't have a voice, it doesn't have a single vision. It's a bunch of different people with a bunch of different visions that are constantly at odds with each other (which manifests as balance issues). We need a single, unified design team. We need a design philosophy like we had in the old days
