It'd be nice to be able to play illaoi without feeling like I'm gimping myself to hell

All of what used to be her skill matchups got powercreeped (illaoi never got an actual balance change since season 6 lul).

All the new champions are massive powercreeps. Mobility is powercreeped, damage is powercreeped.

Everything that sucks to play against as illaoi has just powercreeped her into the dirt. If I want to take her even in a low diamond game I'm basically trolling my fucking ass off. Watching scarra play her cuz he likes her then seeing him feed his ass off against a sion that takes literally zero damage despite getting hit by everything he puts out is fucking stupid.

RIP illaoi mains. Not many champions have as much built in counterplay as her, but despite her clear and exploitable weaknesses, she's not allowed to have the numbers to potentially succeed.

Interesting thoughts you have there. Now lets see. Illaoi can easily kill all toplane fighters (melee) with the exception of trynda and jayce. Now, I recently played vs illaoi in toplane as jax and i was not able to move in lane. most damage done by e combine with tentacles and that damage when she got black cleaver (while having 0/1) in 14 minutes and while i was able to push her away from lane, suddently that damage with 1 ult on e became from 500 to 980 (the damage from e ultimate not the tentacles) and then the fast tentacles finished me off while i had 1300 health.

Yeah, illaoi is a very weak champ and RIP mains.

(Btw, she was running kleptomancy so she did not do any more damage by the runes)

I fee gimped whenever i play against Illaoi. Her Q hitbox is rather bs, her E cd is just short enough that if you escape it and let the tenactle spawn debuff run out you can be hit by another e instantly after. And dont even try the “Just use that moment to attack her” comments. The spirit deals 25-35(?) damage to you, so on a good trade you take half of your hp while she heals hers back ti full no problem.

And her ult, yea, her lovely ult. I cant tell you how many times Ive had junglers say the moment she hits lvl 6 that toplane is a no go zone. Even if we are even kds wise (you are never even cs) its just impossible to gank an Illaoi UNLESS you have a crap ton of cc and damage, like say a WW ult, cho q and cho r. But thats the exception rather then the rule
