Ruby Sightstone needs a buff/rework

This item just isn't worth it anymore. The new support items are just superior in every possible way (in terms of stats, item passive/active, etc). Perhaps reducing the combine cost of the item or slightly increasing the health could help it compete with other items. I'm not really sure what the best thing to do for this item is, but it needs something to stay competitively viable.

I feel like it would be better if it gave a new ward every minute instead.

I'm not really sure it's needs an rework. The reduced cooldown on active items feels intressting. In scenario's where you get both item 3401 & item 3190. The lower cooldown actually feels impactfull. The problem is that it's way more expensive than the item 2303 item 3190 rush you generally see.

I don't think the problem lies with item 2045 itself. The real issue is that an additional ward stack can be obtained for 1000 gold (since you have to buy another item 1028). While the combined effect you can get it for 550 gold. The reality is that you often will not enouge gold to get to item 3401 and often your team is already starving for a item 3190. Basicly you want that locket as soon as possible and often that 450 gold different can mean you can get it a recall sooner.

Personally let's just buff the item active cooldown reduction to 20%. Maybe we could let it also effect things like item 3026 item 3102

I think people rush Eye of the Oasis just because no one will let you use your Relic stacks late game so why should I funnel gold into an item people won't let me use when I can at least save myself an item slot.

The item 3401 active is actualy more impact than you might think. When you have a low range adc like Vayne.

But overal supports are just in a terrible state when it comes to itematisation. Often I'm the only tank on the team. I'm the only frontline. That's when it get's nasty. I litterly when item 3068 item 3065 a fell times just to keep the frontline up.

To be fair, it is the only item with CDR on actual item cooldowns. I'm not saying that ruby shouldn't be better (an extra 100hp would be nice), but for most frost queen's support sets it is actually pretty abusable as with banner/zz-rot/ghosts you can do more than the enemy support while still having pretty good tank stats.

I just don't get why they put a 10% active cd on it. As a support, yes we get a lot of active items, but I feel like a way to regen wards would be more efficient for a support. Mid to late game I find myself recalling more as a support to get more wards for my sightstone than to actually go back to buy items or get health/mana.

FQ, TA, FotM are better than the other supp items.

Yes, Sightstone still sucks, and needs a rework.

But, by no means is saving for an extra item slot always the best, and in many cases the actives on FQ and FotM are better.

I say give more variety to Sightstone. Plus some mr, or plus some armor.

REFILABLE WARDS!!!

Or at the very least a bubu fix, add some mana to current Sighstone and extra hp to it.

Give it a 20% item active cdr up from 10%, and I'm sold.

why not just offer flat damage reduction from spells and autos, similar to dorans shield but slightly better. help supports live longer without making a super stat item that tanks would pick up.

the new support items are just superior in every possible way (in terms of stats, item passive/active, etc).

I agree with the idea, but this part is untrue. Frost Queen's Claim and Talisman of Ascension's actives both make huge impacts, more so than just saving up a single item space.

The item doesn't have a reason to be bought, it's true. Just like Ohmwrecker, Frozen Mallet, and Wit's End. It has a niche, but that niche isn't strong enough or prevalent enough to justify its existence. It will likely be removed at some point.

Make item 2045 build from = item 2049 + item 3067 so the build path is better and have 10% CDR.

The thing is, it's actually a pretty good item but you want at least two items with actives before you get it and games just don't last long enough for you to be able to get it or if you can get it, you're either at the point where you're steamrolling the enemy and want more selfish items or you're so far behind that you need that Randuins to live slightly longer against that fed Yi.

Thing is, I need a gp5 item to start me off (NEED). I don't want to buy something like item 3092 or item 3069 ON TOP of a ruby sightstone because then I'm super squishy mid game. That's why I like upgrading my gp5 item into something that fuses with regular sightstone so I can get the wards I need and the gold generating item I want, all in one slot.

From there, it's either more health or something with defenses to it. Anything extra like CDR or mana isn't mandatory, since I'm building to survive and provide an initial instance of utility once we encounter enemies. It's not like I'll be spending mana to wave clear, so I'm not bothered about buffing that particular resource on most supports I play.

I've gambled sometimes by skipping a gp5 item and instead rushing something like randuins or righteous glory on tank supports. They can get away with purchases like these since you mainly want to initiate fights and tank [towers], so not only will you make your money back via assists and objectives, but you're also not scared of enemies going MIA since you're forcing them to appear at towers and epic monsters.

My real problem is that regular sighstone give 3 wards while any eye item give 4 charges in order to obtain an extra ward I need to upgrade my sighstone to ruby using a total of 1600 gold that I could just use to get an aegis of the Legion and a pink ward make ruby sighstone give 5 charges so it be way more worthy
