To be honest, Yasuo himself is not even the problem
Edit: Oh the Yasuo mains are quick to downvote as always. Probably didnt even read the post, just saw something about yasuo and got triggered lol. If you disagree at least write why <_<'
He just manages to bring the flaws of the underlying systems together: Some aspects of Critical Strike (hey look i just doubled my base AD. Also I just won an early trade by pure luck.), Frozen Mallet (you can now no longer run away from me the moment I hit you once, and if you cant trade me you die), and the most recent mind-boggler: the idea that glass cannon champions need defensive options in their items in addition to those in their kit (Phantom Dancer).
And this is why Riot will never lay hand on Yasuo: because he himself is not even an issue here, he's just a focal point for overall bad design. The only way to somehow get over this would be making him scale of AS instead of crit, but then Riot, who constantly sticked to this, would have admitted that they were wrong for so long. And they barely ever do, because being a stubborn kid is always easier than an insightful and self-reflexive adult.
I wonder how the designer feels tho, that he has made a champion that is banned regardless of strenght, because people simply HATE seeing him? Like, "here, congratulations, you didnt just fail and make some flaws, you created something that fits into the game SO WELL everyone fucking hates the sight of it alone."
And now add to the fact that the character is neither thematically appealing nor unique - as CertainlyT can operate game design like complex clockwork but sucks at literally anything that has to do with the narrative aspects (also explains his failure that was the Morde Rework) - what gives people no reason to at least like the character from an aesthic point of view, like they do with Kled or Jhin.
And that is not even accounting for the Windwall bullshit when it blocks a Nami ult with one pixel or something...
came in. He is just that cancerous.
