Rito, Can we get some GP nerfs now?
Gangplank probably has the most overloaded kit in the game and is probably one of the top 3 strongest hyper carries late game. The only thing that really held him back before was that his barrel mechanic was very hard to master. This is no longer the case since the release of the training mode, players have been able to get down the barrel mechanics quicker and he has slowly risen up the ranks to where he now has an overall winrate of 52%. A lot of people think that's pretty average, but for a mechanical champion, it's definitely OP. A balanced mechanical champ is usually around 47-48%. Add to this that a lot of GP players are now taking Cleanse and you have a champion that is basically immune to CC while doing a ridiculous amount of damage.
So what can been done about it? My suggestion is to definitely get rid of the free gold income (he can keep the silver serpents) he gets from his Q Parrrley. Hyper carries are supposed to weak early game. This is totally irrelevant for GP. He can literally get dumpstered early game and still finish laning phase with about the same amount of gold as his opponent. This is the definition of broken. You have to have great risk for champs that provide great reward and GP is very low risk since he gets free gold, has two MS speed boosts and a slow to run away from problems, and that CC immunity. A good GP player is going to be very safe during laning phase since he can farm easily from range.
The second thing that needs fixed is the ghost barrel. There is zero counterplay to this and basically gives GP an "I win" move for teamfights.
I'm sure there will be plenty of GP mains crying about this, but they all know that i'm right about this.
