Double AP is different than 3 ADC, a support and an AD assassin

But it is true AP wasn't always this bad

I find your lack of tanks, disturbing.

The ADC's are building off-tank. Maw + Sterak's + hybrid items.

The support could be the tank

They only need to be a front line for 2-3 seconds before the back line of 3 adc could evaporate anything that came thier way

On top of that many adc have self peels

Example if you have a Quinn, corki and Tristan's adc they all have mobility to escape an assassins gap closer then clean up the assassin with the combined dos of 3 adc, while your assassin takes out thier adc and your 1 support who could be acting as tank holds off the enemy team long enough for the 3 adc to clean house

We used to have AP top, mid and JG too.

AP had the best itemization for years and it was "balanced"

They could just complete athenes and not give a fuck about mana anymore, while also getting CDR and a good amount of AP from it.

They bought seekers and shut down any AD mid that laned against them.

Building MR meant jackshit because of how fast AP scaled, you could sit by mid game with Merc threads and Visage and still get melted by magic damage. It got to the point where they nerfed locket and removed Runic Bulwark because it was the only thing countering AOE magic damage.

And now that things are different (and by different i don't mean it's fine) Riot is playing favorites, can't balance etc etc.

I'm not saying 3 AP was never a thing that could occur in an earlier season, but there was still an ad on that team in the form of adc, the current state f the game is seeing 0 AP and 4 ad + 1 support/tank in a moderately common occurrence

This is why I'm comfortable first or second picking Rammus. AD champs are in right now, and they pick them regardless.

By AP junglers they mean Elise. AP jungles were still not as common as AD and Elise was queen at the height of AP itemization.

Because back then Diana and Eve were primarily mid laners and Fiddlesticks was only slightly more common.

AP champs are not in a good spot right now.

Mages are still completely fine and playable. Obviously adcs are dominating right now but mages are still ALOT better than bruisers. You still see Lisssandra, Lulu, Ahri, Velkoz, Lux and many more picked at high elo or LCS....when was the last time you saw a bruiser top lane or anywhere else? Fiora doesn't count, everyone picked her cause she was broken. You don't see Renekton anymore, you don't see Jax anymore, you don't see Irelia anymore, you don't see Darius anymore, you don't see Riven anymore, etc...

The main issues is, they came out with the adc reworks. New ad items, which was fine. Then the Riot nation attacked, they increased the gold cost almost across the board on ap items

They're too blinded by Yasuo. If the champion can't beat Yasuo, they're worthless. If they can, they're OP and need to be nerfed.

Mages have always been powerful, but people forget that because of the assassin meta. Mages are like artillery. They're really good at dealing damage to a crowd from a safe distance, but melee range is their downfall. Therefore, you need a strong front line to keep them safe.
