gonna get deleted because rito doesn't want the public to know about the bullshit going on right now because they're too fucking stupid to know how to fix it

It's kinda hard to disable a champion itself because of a few players abusing a script. All of them will lose their account within the next 24 hours anyways.

Xilixer6 votes

most of these players could care less if they lose the account because they have several more.

TheMinez11 votes

*Couldn't

Sorry, but saying "could care less" means that they care an unspecified amount that is not 0. It would technically be true to say could care less even if it was the most important thing in the world to them.

3TWarrior2 votes

it also means by "could care less" that the person might only care less if it proves to be ignored or even beneficial to the person

whereas by "could not care less" it means that the topic itself has no value to the player. Clearly it has at least some value to the player because the player is using the exploit at all.

Serevas16 votes

Probably because it's a third party program rather than a bug and just because a bunch of people want to be assholes doesn't mean that people who actually play the champion should be prohibited from playing a champion that functions just fine.

At least as far as I'm aware.

superfire4442 votes

Just because it's a script doesn't mean that they shouldn't disable xerath. It completely ruins ranked integrity. The champion doesn't function fine if you win or lose the game when that champion has a certain script running.

The couple Xerath mains that will be unhappy about it have to deal with that for the greater good, although it sucks. There are plenty of other champions to play.

Serevas1 votes

See that's just the problem.

The champion doesn't have a script running. The player does.

That's like saying that nobody is allowed internet access because we've identified that hackers exist, and until we get rid of the hackers, no internet for anyone.

Just because it's a script doesn't mean that they shouldn't disable xerath.

It would if only a very small number of people were using it and were not actually causing much of an impact on the game It would if the exploit wasn't actually unique to Xerath and they would just alter it afterwards to make, say, Singed's Q, the size of the full map instead of Xerath's.

I can see why they wouldn't disable him if it's a script. Better to gather all the people who are using it and ban the accounts to try and deter people from using it till they can figure out a way to hotfix it. I'm with the crowd tho, if you see someone pick Xerath, just dodge or use a Ban on him. It's better to try and outplay an OP char than deal with Xerath exploits.

Also, dodging games and a 5 min break isn't too bad unless you keep getting Xerath exploiters.

Since its a script riot decides not to disable him im guessing. Everyone can't get a hold of this exploit, so they decide not to disable him. But as of right now, disabling him is the best option, better to be safe than sorry. Would hate to play against that in one of my ranked games.

YoungSirJ0ey7 votes

Because it's a script, and if Riot disabled champs because scripters use them, we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

Envoy of Melody2 votes

Scripts itself aren't the problem here, you can still kill scripters most of the time. It's the effectiveness of the script that's so dangerous. This is actually gamebreaking, this is not just "a little thing" or "This guy goes 20/3 as Vayne because he can perfectly dodge skillshots", it's Xerath globally taking everyone out of the game and ruining it for 9 other people. Hotfixing this doesn't fix how negatively it impacts the game and the players to go through that torture.

I don't think calling Riot stupid is helpful at all, NOR (if true...which I am not suggesting) why they haven't disabled Xerath. It sounds like you're mad, but name calling doesn't help any situation.

Monkeys can think and solve problems dude. Don't insult primates comparing Riot to them.

Anyone know if this is a repeatable by anyone or if it requires some sort of 3rd party software?

Also, for anyone wondering:

Someone shared a first person video on Twitter of someone using the script. It looks like it requires the player to be in a particular position on the map (in the video it showed a spot a little ahead of the Red Nexus towards bot lane). It's also got a chance to fail even if you're in the right spot.

I'd be very curious how the bug/exploit/script combo works, but it's unlikely that'll be made public.

Skins Project1 votes

The people who made the script posted a comment in the vid that links their website which has mutlpule other champion scripts along with a vid that's 3 hours long that more or less shows them fucking people over and how it works....

Pang Y4 votes

I was first one to post it hours ago and Riot took it down messaging me that it was inappropriate.

TricolorStar4 votes

Here's a full breakdown of the bug, guys:

It is a combination of a script and a bug. The bug makes it so that if you have very precise position/timing or Xerath's Q, it will simulate hitboxes that auto-target every enemy within a large (but not global) range. I did some poking in Xerath's files and apparently this bug has existed for a long time but it requires _very _ precise timing to perform. The script just automates the timing process.

Still a hack/exploit and should be dealt with immediately.

Thanks for raising visibility. We will be investigating this ASAP.

Really??

Are you done yet???

Done upvote farming you crap?

They haven't disabled it so they can actually find everyone who is hacking... Not like everyone who hacks is going to find out about it in the first 24 fucking hours..

A Basic Island1 votes

if you had any sort of ability to read, you'd see that was posted well after i posted this

but thanks for playing

Skins Project1 votes

Hmmm...

Funny, but you didn't respond to it did you?

Did you bring it up?

No.

A Basic Island1 votes

Skins Project2 votes

Oh IDK...

Maybe point out that your just flat insulting riot for no reason at this point, being that they DID respond.

Or even apologize?

Oh shit sorry your always right because your a random person who doesn't work at riot for a living

A Basic Island1 votes

Pointing out or admitting that your points are now irrelevant...

Or OR this bug was found out the part of yesterday where most employees are off. And coding is hard. Calm your tits though, it's on Rito's radar.

Or they disable the champ till they can fix him

I never said they shouldn't do that?

Riot is the most incompetent company to ever see the face of the earth, owning the shittiest moba alive

"Toxicity is in 0.01% of the games" Just earlier Ekko wished that i die of aids and our alistar was afk after min 10. 7 years in this shitty game if not more, and they still cant solve the afk issue

good question..

Joseph Gladstone1 votes

i mean u pretty much answered your own question there

LostFr0st1 votes

It's probably since it's just a few people and not easy to reproduce. If it was like the recall bug with Riven maybe it'd be different; or if it gets discovered in other champions.

Dessem2 votes

This. It'd hurt legitimate Xerath mains. We have no idea how large this is either; is it 10% of matches with a Xerath in them? More? Less?

Disabling Xerath is best for competitive integrity but you lose out on datasets that can be used to actively combat the exploit.

imperialax1 votes

Just ban Xerath for now

Funniest bug ever. Haven't heard about it until I saw this thread. Then I saw a video LOLOLOL WOWWWWW

As you see the exploit costs 100 euro now, so not worry too much about getting this in your ranked game. (must be disabled/fixed tho...) https://youtu.be/4Ypl_3NuUCM

The chinese guy selling the script is a nephew of a VP at TenCent, the chinese company that owns the majority of riot. That is why nothing is being done.

YuGiHo1 votes

Why is it always xerath this these scrips tho

3TWarrior1 votes

because he is one of the few champions in the game with a skillshot that is instantaneous (though highly telegraphed and difficult)

d4rkshock1 votes

Is it because of scripts only or does the skillshot still have a global range but with shit accuracy without them. If so, then they should disable him. Scripts shouldn't break the game for everyone since it's only interacting with your computer and not the actual game files. It basically has aimbots, anti ganks, automatic skillshot dodges, ward vision, global base ults, and summoner spell alerts. It shouldn't actually effect ranges. The only game I can think of where it does is Minecraft maybe.
