May you Rest in peace GGHF.

Apparently that bit of gamer etiquette has died? Might just be my experience but I almost never see this in games anymore, even as a response to me saying it. Shame, Sportsmanship is an admirable quality imo. I guess enough of y'all think its more entertaining to spam GGEZSCUBS and behave like a spoiled pre-teen.

Oh well... eventually you guys will figure out that Players make a big impact on the quality of gameplay in a PVP game.

Edit. Whelp that's a good and royal screw up on my part. I intended that to be GLHF. Embarrassing.

I see GLHF

I just don't know why though, I already had a good lunch and don't have room for fries

There is always a few people that say GGHF and everyone saying GG at the end of my games (unless it was an complete stomp).

The only time I seen the attitude you described A LOT is when I'm watching SaltyTeemo's stream (Stream that spectates Iron-Bronze games) which doesn't shock me at all.

I usually save the ggwp for the end of the game. I don't personally use gghf, but I will definitely say you too to anyone who does. I, like many players, try not to use the chat very much if at all because I got a BS punishment a while back and don't want to have my account banned, be it temporarily or permanently. It's not just the death of gamer etiquette, it's partially fear too-at least for me and some of my friends.

No one really uses gghf far as i know thats just a Typo on my end.

GLHF was always extremely annoying anyways. Imo, starting any sort of conversation in chat is already toxic in itself in this community despite positive intent. Even if you wanted to be nice, I think to all of us who have played league a lot, we know that any sort of thing in chat can tilt anyone. It's just not worth it to even speak. So I'm happy GLHF died. I prefer it when no one speaks at all the entire game unless they're calling out roams. Those are typically the best games. Even good jobs and nice ganks are bad to say in this community. You say nice gank and then someone is going to complain about how ganking them would've been better. You say good job and then the person (this is a personal one for me but obviously could go wrong in even more ways) feels like they have to keep preforming that well all game or else you'll get toxic and now that person you said good job to is stressed. It's just not worth it to chat unless you're with friends in norms. Even then voice chat is better. There was a post a while back about how shutting up is always better than speaking in LoL, it was something rioters suggested a lot of people read. I prefer someone saying GGEZ. At least then I know who to mute (if I haven't already done /mute all) right away. The people who say GLHF are the silent and deady toxic people.. and yeah sometimes they could be actual nice people who mean it... but this is league... that's like 1% of the playerbase... and most of that playerbase are casuals and that's why they're so chill and nice. I'm not iron. I play with people who spam the game and get tilted. I'm hoping a 1% player is in my top 10% (actually I just looked it up... top 6%... hehe humble brag) of players game. Like it just ain't happening.

Because they found out it triggers people like you

I feel that viewing bad sportsmanship negatively is not inherently an uncommon viewpoint. Yes, even on the interwebs.

Feel free to define your definition of "Triggered". Let me be clear. I am not outraged. I don't demand punishment. I don't require any action to be taken by anyone. If people share my viewpoint that being a shit teammate in a team game makes you inherently immature? At best I would feel somewhat validated.

Look, This is just my opinion man. If I'm wrong and it gets proven then I will simply adjust my opinion. Is there any good reason I shouldn't think the folks who cant be good sports are lacking in maturity?

Show a good argument why I cant have my perception on that. Till then I am gonna go on thinking of toxic players as immature, it makes me hate them less.

I'm with you, don't see a reason why people can't have basic common courtesy.

Wait, is GGHF a typo or something? This is the first time in my life that I've seen it. I think GLHF is more of an RTS thing nowadays to my knowledge, though I do see ggs and whatnot being posted after almost every match I play.

If you're in a team game usually you're too busy communicating with your teammates and getting yourself ready for the upcoming match to type in chat.

Might not seem like much, but using 7 key presses as you're spamming howdy and hype kitty in front of the enemy team's mid tower will only end in your demise.

Yep. Big typo on my part.

GLHF always felt like too dry a copypasta, so I start my games with a brief “Good luck everyone!”

Kai Guy2 votes

I tend to do "Have fun Y'all."

I used to do and see this all of the time. In games where there was no punishment system at all. It had both extremes in "toxicity" and kindness.

Usually censoring people through banning will likely make people a lot less honest. For people wanting to be toxic.... they will just shout things that arent bannable more often because they dont get to say what they really want to say.

I see ggwp a lot, and I see "ez" a fair bit too lol, it's really satisfying when "ez" comes just before "shut down"

I like when EZ turns into "Defeat" personally.

Everyone is a passive aggressive player nowadays because they somehow think it's entertaining and they're such a funny kind of person for saying stuff like "GGEZ", "Tell your X player to quit" etc.

Sportsmanship died when Riot honed in on the competitive side of the game....only to then fuck that up too so now we're left with passive aggressive dickheads in a casual environment.

Hügö1 votes

You can blame Riot for it. They created a game where playing it is just frustrating because of all the shit they implemented. Go to SC2 and see every round at the beginning glhf and at every end gg, as the players are way more calm as all that matters is skill and knowledge.
