Seeking Insight from High Elo Player(s)

This isn't a thread to whine, it's a thread to seek a deeper understanding as a player who's only Gold and started in early S5.

I want to understand what about the game is healthier, and what's less healthy; in the perspective of someone who understands the game much better than I do.

In my perspective, Turrets feel weaker (offensively+defensively), games seem decided faster, one person alone doesn't appear to be capable of carrying the way they used to, and I feel as though there's more options for mitigating damage to an unhealthy extent. But I'm assuming some of those could potentially be chalked up to me climbing / people getting better overall.

Maybe the game is evolving at a rate I find myself unable to keep up with or something, I don't know, but I do know I want to understand what has changed from early S5 to now to make the game feel so different; because I feel pretty ignorant.

I started playing in S2 back when your rank was an ELO number. Started out at 800 ELO (low bronze) and i'm sitting low-mid Diamond now (2000 or so in the old system).

Turrets I will sit under my turret at level 5 and you can try to kill me. Good Luck.

Games decided faster item 3513 Rift Herald is the only thing that is speeding up games from before.

Defensive Items Unhealthy We are not in a tank meta like we were when the Juggernaut role was introduced. I do feel that some items do too many things item 3001 item 3147 item 3109

Can't Solo Carry I checked the boards (only first page). The internet has spoken and all of these champs are OP. Please pick one to Solo Carry. Rakan Janna Twitch Zed Yasuo Illaoi Chogath

Overall In my opinion it's the same game that it always was. Every Pre-Season people whine and complain and then it's fixed in a month or two. My only criticism is that with the increasing champion pool there are more high mobility champions. In general, these out-compete a lot of the old champs. But i think Riot has been doing a decent job with reworks to keep the oldies playable.

I started season 1 and yea the game has changed quite a bit. Riot has slowly pushed the game for a more fast paced team oriented style of gameplay. They toned down certain champions like Rengar as well of removing snowballing items such as DFG. In addition bounty changes and dragon gold was reworked. The game is overall less snowbally and shutdown now mean a team wide gold. There was no scuttle crab and vision could be controlled by one person. There wasnt as much requirement for cooperation such as with Kalista, knights vow, redemption, locket, etc. It used to be wombo combo champions and people would just follow up, I Think towers got nerfed a bit a few years ago when they removed lazers and the shields they gave you.

I mean its not impossible to solo carry its just a bit harder then the older seasons.
