"Thresh is a jack of all trades but master of none"

Except for having the best team engage, best sticking power and actually scales by existing... as for his damage, peel, zoning power and general mobility, he is hardly a bad champion in those aspects either, but he is still very much "high tier" in those categories, only being bested by 1 or 2 champions in those categories

He is highly played in all elos for almost 3 YEARS NOW for a reason, because he is clearly a better choice then any other support in the game, he has no clear counters but really messes up any support who does not build tanky

Can Riot please actually speak up about Thresh, if any other non tanky support was picked as much as him, they would expect nerfs the next patch and this is a fact

best team engage? hahahahahha Amumu just press Q-R Leona ulti someone and chain lock him Malphite need to be a korean to escape his ulti no comment on Nautilus

What engage has thresh? grab with 1 sec cast time. Thresh has mobility? are you kidding? he has one of the lowest ms for a support (330) and his hook is hardly a mobility spell. meanwhile janna has 2 ms steroid, blitzcrank used to be more mobile with his old W, and leona is TRULY a mobile champion.

thresh is actually balanced, his high pickrate makes his win rate clear without traps and as we can see it doesn't go above 49%. i believe he is picked because he is fun, and because support players feel actually playing the game while playing thresh because he deals damage can zone a carry (high risk high reward with hsi range) unlike supports like soraka or sona.

if you are against thresh, and you consider yourself as a good player, then dodge his hook who has a casting time and block the lantern with your hitbox.

Nope, that is Blitzcrank

Janna doesnt have sticking power, she has running power She has a .5 sec knockup (You're not gonna be charging it anytime soon if you're chasing) and a weak slow (that both also do almost 0 damage)

Also, Thresh isn't outclassed by anyone. He has disengage, engage, peel, damage... What other support can engage better than thresh ? Arguably blitz, but blitz is also useless after his hook, and only has a knockup to follow up, while thresh has slows, knockbacks, stuns, 99% slow

.5 seconds and a slow is more then enough to stick especially late game. Next time you are trying to escape a team and Janna W Qs you, come back here and tell me she doesn't have chasing power.

Who cares about whether they do damage or not? She doesn't need damage when she just set you up to die because the four other people on her team are doing damage.

Yes he is, he might be the strong in what he does, but he doesn't excel beyond a reason of a doubt to be the at the top. He has an engage, Blitzcrank's is better, no doubts about that but in turn, when he misses it yeah, he does, he can shield, others can shield better by providing higher shields or to more people at a higher range.

You said Janna has the best sticking power, not mediocre sticking power. Thresh has better sticking power with a 99% slow, another slow from flay, and the hook stun, that also knocks back. Even someone like Brand has better sticking power with a 2 second STUN, or annie with more stuns than u will ever need, or even nami

And what other champion can reposition an ally, that also gives a decent shield?

Still think a long range AoE knock up is still better then a close range slow personally. As for the box, can't really compare an ultimate to a basic move.

Bro, you said sticking power, not basic abilities. Janna is known for her peeling, not her chasing power. She gets people away from her, and thats what she does. That's a speed up, not repositioning... Karma cant make people travel through walls and fly wherever she is

Best team engage.....u know he needs to LAND his hook to engage right?

I mean,

Nautilus just needs to click R Annie Click R

lantern, flash, R

your entire team just engaged from 2000 units away and the enemy team is now slow as fuck and getting flayed all over the place no skillshots invloved but you can do the same with hook instead of flash anyway

This is the way I see Thresh and my view on anyone who uses the phrase in the title. People say he is a "Jack of all trades, master of none." The simple truth is that he doesn't need to be a master of a particular thing to get the job done. Comparing him to Blitzcrank, I mean sure, Blitz's grab is better, but more often than not Thresh's secures a kill as well if he can land it.

As for peeling goes people think as Janna as the #1 peeling support. But Thresh doesn't really need a whole kit based off peeling and safety when most of the time he can just use Flay, Dark Passage, or even The Box to bring an ally to safety or peel for them.

The point I am trying to get at is that Thresh doesn't need to be a master by any means when he gets the job done with his kit.

Thresh like any all-in support is very succeptable to being poked down. If you use a poke support like Sona, Nidalee, or Velkoz and chunk his health down consistently he can not reliably engage without risking feeding the enemy more kills. Also Janna and Ali are both very hard counters to Thresh due to their ability to disengage him if he lands a hook. All I can say is while Thresh is a strong support there are many supports that can out do him if you play the counterpick game.
