About the mage update. Why not Annie?

What does she bring to the game that's so unique there's no reason to update her?

  • Shes damn near manaless in lane with Q farming and build RoA

  • She has point n click on q then 2 other spells that are pretty hard to miss

  • She's usually picked entirely on her having a relatively easy lane and reliability.

  • Not to mention her aoe nuke stun. Which is probably the only reason your team wants you around.

I saw the Mage update and though Annie was garenteed to be on the list. She can definitely use something more interesting than (get four stacks then stun)

As a suggestion, get four stacks then your next spell as a unique effect. As an added suggestion that people have been asking for awhile, Annoe tosses Tibbers rather than summoning him on the spot.

I don't want this to come off as a QQ Annie thread. I do play her from time to time and probably own 75% of her skins. I was just hoping for her to become more interesting to play

So what were the three things?

Distinct. Annie offers the best engage out of any mage, and better than some tanks.

Cohesive. Difficult. Her fantasy really is just "BURN BURN BURN!!!!!!", which she delivers on well. Perhaps Tibbers could be more core, but it is hard to make a permanent minion satisfying. She is better than a lot of champs in this regard.

Healthy. One could argue not. All point and click burst, the stun prevents reaction. One could also argue that the short range makes flash necessary to get the burst of against enough members to make it worthwhile and that some point and click CC is necessary to keep mobility in check.

From this, we can see that there are champions who may be more in need of work than Annie. Given limited resources, I can understand why Annie is not going to be receiving significant changes.

All great points. But I'd like to argue that Brand is a better version of Annie.

  • still consistent on his "burn theme"

  • he offers more counterplay but still has strong reward

  • he doesn't have engage quite like Annie and it's fine that Annie has that. Brand is a good "finisher"

And Brand is getting work done. On a balance stand point, he seems like a much better position than her. And even as far as theme.
