There is no counterplay to it, and it completely removes any semblance of organization a team can have. There is literally 0 reason for an ability to be so strong with no drawback. It has such a short cooldown that you can literally just spam it off cooldown. Nocturne needs some kind of rework, and fast.
Nocturne is a dumpster champion that is only viable for his ability to block ward vision via his R, allowing his team to walk over key spots undetected.
His R is extremely easy to counterplay, all you have to do is not be isolated, underfarmed, and out of position. So basically have some common sense. Oh theres a Nocturne? He has enough kills that he could 1shot me if i isolate myself? Well i better not isolate myself and set myself up to get 1shotted by Nocturne. If you are a champion that is susceptible to Nocturne sticking to you after he ults, and you dont have enough farm to duel him, you need to not isolate yourself and you need to be aware of your positioning. Force Nocturne into a situation where if he is going to kill you, he's going to die doing it, IF he even succeeds. On top of that stopwatch/zhonyas/GA pretty much make his ult nonexistent. Hell, even Ninja Tabis basically invalidate his entire existence. He is a autoattack based assassin, which is a BIG HANDICAP.
You can dodge it if you run in the opposite direction Nocturne is landing from. You can dodge it with any dash. So on top of Nocturne being countered by teamplay, he's also countered by literally any kind of mobility, and any kind of defensive CD. AND he's counterted by items that virtually EVERY champion builds.
so you're saying a global nearsight is more toxic than a built in Elder Buff 
a movement steriod that has no cooldown and no mana cost 
an Elder Buff with bonus money 
an Elder Buff that has no cooldown 
a forced 1v1 with you at a disadvantage 
and a free Guardian Angel 
? you should reorganize your priorities.
The only viable thing about Nocturne is that his ult blocks ward vision. If you think the combat effectiveness of Nocturnes R is OP, you are just a bad player. Or you main Twitch.
Its not the ult, its the fear that lasts 15 seconds after the ult that kills
The counterplay to Nocturne R is good teamwork. (Yeah, you tell me how often that's seen in solo Q.) It's one of the many abilities that punish poor teamwork, like Pyke's R. That's why it can be abused.
Now, if you think the counterplay to certain champ's ability is perfect teamwork, then I advise you to start abusing that champ right away and winning >70% of your games.

Hey all of you guys who are saying "Mad cuz bad", Nocturne currently has a 54% winrate at an almost 3% pickrate. In MID. Nocturne is way too strong at the moment, but enjoy your bandwagoning. It'll really serve you on Reddit.
