Can I get sort of context or reasoning behind balance changes?

Why are we buffing adcs up when the problem is balanced ones are being outclassed by S-tier ones? Isn't this the exact balance mentality Riot actively avoided a few years ago, because they know it leads to a problem that plagues games around the world: power/damage creep?

Why are clear outliers where some champions are performing at a level they were never meant for: Katarina: [53-54% wr, 8-10% play rate, ~26% ban rate](http://53-54% wr, 8-10% play rate, ~26% ban rate) on a supposedly high skill-cap assassin?

Nasus: 54% wr, 10% play rate

etc

These guys dont even need to be gutted, just give them some sort of management instead of leaving them to dominate. Only reason I don't up Vayne because she belongs with the other adcs that should be getting nerfed, and not the group of adcs causing others to get buffed.

I just want to know the reasoning is all, it gets frustrating to see balance changes that make no sense to me without any sort of explanation :/

Pretty sure that they come out with Meddler Quick Thoughts periodically (watch for those), and they definitely give context on patch notes. So it's not like they don't explain their changes. If they don't touch on something, personally, I don't mind because I'm not a game balance professional. I don't know the data. I don't know the fluid system of LoL as well as them. I wouldn't explain my changes to my customer's because 1) they're not going to understand and 2) it's likely they're just going to get mad, and yell. Just look up the 3 AD Vayne changes a long time ago. If I recall, everyone was like "THAT ISN'T GOING TO BE ENOUGH!" but she definitely was no longer the problem that she was being with that change in place. shrug

ADC is a toxic class. Their entire role, save for the 2 or 3 that build on hit attack speed builds, revolve around an archaic rng damage boost system that is impossible to balance without making somebody feel like shit in a situation involving it. The class doesn't need buffs or nerfs, it needs a damn overhaul

My thoughts are that other champions and items have been balanced towards where ADC's are now. So essentially if you nerf the S tier ones into line with A tier, ADC's as a class feel underpowered.

So like if you are going to nerf ADC's damage you'll have to nerf damage from other sources too, maybe even nerf some stuff like ninja tabi that are efficient defensive items against ad that even non-tanks buy.

Otherwise the result will just be league of utility marksmen again. Ashe, Jhin, Varus.

League was balanced in a manner for several seasons where it was typical for your ADC to deal the most damage on your team. Obviously that's the ideal outcome, and I get that we don't want the game to be as ADC focused as they were kind of OP back then. But im just saying the identity of the ADC is kind of like "I'm the primary damage battery" and while we don't want that to be overtuned, we don't want to go back to the days when utility marksmen were all that was played and you'd have things like assassins doing more overall damage to champions in a 30 minute game than a marksman would.
