Mid Wars:Talon Vs Zed

Greetings, i am trying to decide which one will be my main mid champ, i got both talon and zed and i enjoy playing either of them

However, sometimes i pick talon and get matched vs zed, sometimes managing to win sometimes losing

which one is more viable in a competitive scene? i really enjoy talon teleport and assassin creed like look, while zed being an expy of shredder and having teleport spam (coughcancercough)

which one the community hates more? who wins between these 2 in lane? who is more fun to master?

Talon is a great pick for later in the game. His combo doesn't give his target much time to react. His main problems are true vision and lane bullies. Zed is a very safe and great pick for the lane process, as well as mid game. His problems are: item 3140 item 3139 item 3157 , as well as the peel his targets get from their tank/support. Based on the current meta, I would recommend Zed for you.

Agreed. Zed has more reliable tools for escaping and juking, so he sees far more competitive play.

Why not do both, though? Play Zed into pick comps or split pushing roles and Talon into teamfighting comps or poke comps if you don't have a mage handy. It's always good to have a larger pool. The Talon pick can also catch people off guard because he isn't seen that frequently.

I wouldn't pick Talon unless the match-up allowed me to. His role is to contribute later on, which won't be the case if he screws up early, which, honestly, isn't that hard. Zed's role, on the other hand, is to shut down carries and make them unable to catch up later on. In other words: Talon's strength -> Mid-Late game in certain matchups only (at least right now), whereas Zed's strength -> Early, Mid game in almost any matchup.

Of course, but if you're picking up a teamfight comp or a poke comp you aren't looking for early power anyway. Both of those comps will turn on in the mid-late and focus on abusing their powerspikes. Sure there's a lot of potential to lose the lane phase, but that tends to be the case for almost every assassin champ because they're looking to snowball.

If you're in high elo Talon will likely be a bad pick in most matchups, but in anything below Plat you can still thrive with any champ if you're good enough with their kit.

Zed is fantastic at lane fighting in general. One of the safest laners but also he does a ton of damage. Talon is gimmicky he's really good against certain champs but absolutely awful vs others. Zed is the better choice overall. It's super hard to lose lane with zed
