Fun fact: Warrior is the only jungle enchantment which has never been replaced
With the incoming Bloodrazor enchantment, Warrior will be the only enchantment which has never been replaced by another.
-
was originally called Juggernaut. It offered tenacity, 500 HP, and 10% CDR. It couldn't stack with
so tank junglers were forced to build other items, like
. It has been then replaced by what we know nowadays as Cinderhulk, which offers an HP
as well as a mini
passive. -
was originally called Magus. It didn't had any special effect, it just had a lot of AP (80 AP to be exact) and 20% cooldown reduction. It was essentially a
without mana regeneration or a Grievous Wounds passive. It then got replaced by Runeglaive, which was essentially a mini
but with two unique special effects. The first is that it converted a champion's basic attack into magic damage. The other is that it had a splash damage similar to
but that only applied to the empowered attack. It got rebalanced to not convert the basic attack into magic damage, and to only apply the splash damage to monsters. It was then finally replaced by what we know nowadays as Runic Echoes, which is essentially a mini
. -
didn't originally had that Sated Devourer effect. It was originally just a version of the old Feral Flare item, without an on-hit healing or AD, but you didn't needed to stack it to have its on-hit magic damage effect. Then it got nerfed. It was essentially a
without the magic resistance stealing effect. Then the Sated Devourer effect got added nowadays; it was the first time in the League history that such effect was added to an item, so it cannot be compared to any existent or previously existing item. It is now going to be replaced by Bloodrazor, which has a similar effect (and even a similar name) to an old item named Madred's Bloodrazor. However, it does physical damage, and does not come with armor or AD. It can also be compared to
, albeit it does damage based on a maximum health and the value is lower. This means this item is less effective against healthy targets, but more effective against targets closer to death.
remains the only jungle enchantment to never have been replaced by another. Also, unlike other jungle enchantments, it does not come with any special effect, just stats. It used to have armor penetration, but with the removal of The Brutalizer, this item had been changed. It no longer has armor penetration, but has more raw AD to compensate. This is the only major change that this item ever received, apart from minor changes such having 5 AD removed on a patch. Also, it remains the only jungle item to have cooldown reduction, since all other jungle enchantments that used to offer CDR had this stat removed from them.
This is the only jungle item that not only remains not replaced, but there are no plans to replace it anytime soon. However, some patchs ago, there was going to have a change that would make this item become an improved version of an old jungle item called Spirit of the Elder Lizard. It has been reverted, however, and has not been heard of since.
It is important to note that not having an special effect is not necessarily a bad thing, especially since Warrior is the only jungle enchantment that never had any balancing issues. There was a time that only Warrior junglers were considered to be viable, but that was not because Warrior was overpowered. It was because the other jungler items were mediocre (and that's why they got changed).
