Veigar W and E Change

W- Dark Matter

  • AoE Radius doubled
  • Damage redued by 50%, down to 60/85/110/135/160 (+50% AP)
  • The center 50% of the radius deals 100% bonus damage, dealing the current 120/170/220/270/320 (+100% AP)

E- Event Horizon

  • Now gives vision inside the area
  • Duration of ring is now 4.25/4.5/4.75/5/5.25 seconds from 4 seconds at all ranks

This brings back a little bit of Veigar's old lane pressure and makes his E a more reliable trap late game.

Not bad ideas, however I'd rather just see additional spell effects on targets in his to make him more fun while making him viable again.

For example:

Q - On targets within event horizon, Q slows first target and stuns second. W - When cast within event horizon, Larger explosive radius (like your buff) or faster fall time (or both). R - Deals 50% aoe damage if it kills its target within event horizon

Not saying these are 100% optimal but something like this could make Veigar fun. They could potentially remove the stun factor if his abilities work like this (not saying they should but they could).

Like bard but better!

I had some similar ideas to this, I went more in depth in my thread Here but basically if his other spells interacted with E, it would make his E spell much more dynamic, even if he missed.

Increasing the duration of the trap doesn't really make it more reliable, and doubling the radius of Dark Matter causes it to hit a truly enormous area, though I like the idea.

Well, lets compare some stats shall we.

The current radius if his W, according to the League Wiki, is 112.5, so 112.5% of the size of Teemo. So double that is a 225 radius spell. A 225 radius spell is... Malzahar's Null Zone, although it is 250, so slightly smaller than that.

The E trap won't help with those that can escape it already, but it will make it a much better trap for those who do get stuck in it AS WELL as making it also be a much more effective zoning tool in a team fight. Flash is down, meaning you are stuck in his E for 6.25 seconds instead of the current 4 seconds. Or you can brave the 2.5 second stun and get out early.

Wiki is kinda unreliable when it comes to radius, as some people seem to think radius is spelled "d-i-a-m-e-t-e-r."

Making the trap more oppressive to people who are already in it still doesn't solve the problems of nobody being in it. If you keep somebody in the same area for 4 seconds that's already fantastic CC.

6 second veigar cage? that might be a bit too much.

Yeah, maybe 4/4.25/4.5/4.75/5 would be better. I thought it myself, but wanted to see community reaction.

Why not instead, keep W as is

but give it a 2 ammo charge system like vel'koz

After casting Dark matter, you can cast it again after .5 seconds.

There's room to dodge out of the way, but because Veigar can throw two of them into the event Horizon, it becomes a lot more reliable when it comes to landing the ability when he's trapped someone.

On the off-chance he does stun someone though this COULD be op

An interesting proposal. Definitely something Riot should think about using.

So make the damage 200+0.7 in AP and give it two charges?
