I am torn as an Ekko Main as the Ekko Q is great when people are following you, but terrible for chasing people. its a double edged sword.

Not like you have a dash followed by a blink on your target

lol yes a short dash then a blink to en enemy target. The problem comes when your Q hits an enemy champion it slows its movement and then does not go max distance which is a huge problem when chasing targets. I just stated a simple fact so I do not know what your response is about.

Lol , but returning slower is better for hitting minions so his Q on it's way coming back gives of the window of 2 basic attacks , to last hit properly which is a good thing tbh

You're right, but only if you are safe enough to ever walk up to auto them. Most mid lane champs could chunk him real bad if he were to walk up.
