Ekko is super healthy and balanced, but am I allowed to say something about him?

His Ultimate is a major source of frustration + anti-fun for players.

I am very much aware that as far as Assassins go, Ekko is considered a generalist by the balance team. His damage isn't the greatest, his outplay potential isn't the flashiest but he gets screen time and when he does, people cheer.

And to be honest, I've seen Ekkos in my matches and all of them are healthy. Except for one part of his kit, Chronobreak. The ultimate is what makes everyone frustrated and it never feels rewarding for the other team to see Ekko heal up 50-60% of the damage dealt. And then, Ekko proceeds to dash away and continues to be a nuisance by throwing Q until his other teammates can come to his ad.

On your own team, a lot of Ekko players take uncalculated risk because they think their ultimate will save them, and start team fights even at a disadvantageous point.

When defeating an Ekko who just used his ultimate, it feels like this - "Well, that took awhile." and not "That was an awesome outplay". So, let me make a suggestion to his ultimate

"On cast, Ekko blinks to his hologram and becomes hyperaccelerated (or whichever term you can think of to describe time) for 6 seconds. In this state, Ekko regenerates X% of his health (comparable to Dr Mundo's) and Ekko's abilities strike twice at 60% reduced damage until the effect is over"

This still preserves the healing component of Ekko's ultimate, but instead of gaining a large chunk of health, he regenerates the lost health over a period of time. It ties in with how wounds gradually heal as time rewinds itself, and his damage is changed to strike twice instead of dealing massive damage upon arrival. This gives Ekko much more outplay potential and reduces the frustration that players have with his ultimate.

Tl;dr - proposed change is to reduce Ekko's survivability and give him more outplay potential on the levels of our current standards of healthy assassins.

I don't really agree- I do feel there's a lot of frustration, and I'm not sure what change would be appropriate, if any, but regeneration doesn't seem like the right answer.

Well said, though.

This fix you proposed would cause way more problems than it would fix, I think he's fine as is

The only thing I would like to point out, and it might just be me being picky, is his video when fighting the giant hulk. Now granted it was just to be publicity and he can't use his ult as often as shown in the video. However, when he did chronoshift all damage to him remained or barely seemed to heal until the next break. The cracked ribs vanished when he went back for the arm, but the arm remained damaged. In this respect his ult is accurate since he can't restore to 100%.

So yes, his ult works as portrayed, at most I could maybe see movement speed reduction for maybe a second after traveling back, or some half second stun to regain his bearings. I like it as is, except in URF. A lot of stuff is annoying in URF though.

"Every champion, we feel, needs to have something broken or frustrating about their kits. This way the player of the champion is more satisfied, if every champion didn't have at least one thing on them that's a little overpowered or frustrating, the game would be boring."~ Meddler

First if a change like this were to be implemented, it would need to happen over 4 seconds not 6 just because his ultimate makes him constantly have to keep track of where he was 4 seconds ago, it would just make sense. Second, making his abilities strike twice would break him, that's a fact, even at 60% reduced damage, and third, if an ekko chronobreaks on top of me and kills me, that's an outplay, if he used it to re engage a team fight, outplay if he uses to get out after starting a teamfight, that's an outplay. I see no issue with him as is, he's balanced right now and what's not broken doesn't need fixing.
