[Concept] Reporting During Champ Select

Hey Boards! So we all know a lot of people want the option to report during champion select, and some even to get a free dodge during champ select. Well, awhile ago I made an idea commenting on a post so I decided to dedicate a post to the idea.

So obviously enough this idea is about reporting during champion select, but how does it work?

During champ select there will be a button next to each player ON YOUR TEAM (asides from yourself) that you can click to start the report. When you click the button a pop-up will appear that looks similar to the normal report pop-up, with options and a textbox where you can go into further detail. The options could be such as:

  • Not playing assigned role (could/could not be present in blind pick)
  • Toxicity/Harassment
  • Attempting to feed/troll

And perhaps some others. When you submit the report it will do the usual thing where it gives the chat logs of the pre-game chat to Riot as well as the champion picks/bans (just in case). Riot can then review your report and if it checks out, the player could receive a punishment.

What about leaving champ select?

Well, if at least 3 players report the same player the champ select will end and they will return to queue. No one will receives punishments when they lobby is disbanded, even the reported player. They will get their punishment (IF necessary) sooner or later.

What about abuse cases?

There is always the chance of abusing this system. A few toxic players could say "Hey fuck this guy in particular let's report him for something random." Well, that's why Riot will be able to review the chat logs and champion picks/bans, to see if the one unlucky guy is actually guilty. It will definitely be harder to play sick off-meta picks or to play how you want, but hopefully some sort of karma system could be implemented, where if a person reports one-too-many times without anyone actually being guilty, then they will be unable to report players for a few champ selects, so not even abusers can get what they want all the time (Seriously, why you gotta be a jerk and not let people play off-meta? As long as they don't troll or pick somethin' really bad, it's OK in my book)

So, that's it! A simple idea that could/could not work. And it's all I got, so cya.

I just made a post one the PBE forums for this.

Autofillers are troll picking to ether force someone to dodge or trade with them.

These players need to be reported but we cant do that (or even block them) until after the game that WILL be a loss.
