Most champions with magic damage in this game need to ACTUALLY SPEND MANA in order to deal magic damage. Why the f*ck does Teemo get a DOT with zero cooldown that costs absolutely nothing to use?

That still doesn't explain why the ability is free and has no cooldown. And no I don't think he's an auto attack based champ. Auto attacks are part of his kit just like every other champ in this game.

The bulk of his in-combat power and damage is in his on-hit effects, AA-based DoT, and his attack speed boost. He is primarily an auto-attack champion. The ability is free and has no cooldown for the same reason that building AD gives you free damage on no cooldown -- the champion is intentionally designed around sustained auto-attack based damage.

Saying that AD gives you free damage is stupid. It's literally designed to do that. AD is designed to increase your auto attack damage and literally ANY champ in the game can build this stat. AD is working as intended and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. If Teemo wants more damage on his auto attacks he should actually have to build ad. He shouldn't just get magic damage for free.

His kit balance is designed to though. Like, the fact that he does is built into his power budget, and is part of why his only other damage spells are a single-target point-and-click on a moderate cooldown, and a rather close-range delayed AoE.
In short, AP doesn't always give you free damage, but, on Teemo, that interaction is intended as part of his scaling and his power curve.

So what you're saying is unlike Teemo's poison Vayne's damage is actually fair since she actually has to hit someone 3 times in a row to get any benefit whatsoever out of this ability, right?

Why the f*ck should it be anything other than a single target DOT? He gets stealth, stealth traps that do aoe magic damage, and a blind that can't be dodged. He doesn't need anything else.

He has a point and click blind, stealth, and stealth traps that do aoe magic damage AND are also an aoe slow. And unlike tanky champions he has a ms boost that helps him escape if he fcks up. Why the fck should he be tanky or have hard cc?

xDogMeatx2 votesactually he does have move speed booster it only gives him a edge vs nongap closer type enemies like garen but other ability based champs like riven if she unloads all her abilities after flash W hes basically gone. currently theres other champs who have 1000 dashes that out run him. sylas is another example his passive cuts through teemos blind.

The ms increase isn’t even all that good tbh, it’s pretty shit actually, especially when you have champions like Twitch who gets just as much ms while also being invis, or Volibear who gets a flip on his, or Udyr who gets a stun on his. His escape is also used as his gap closing tool so half the time, it won’t even be usable for escaping.

It's not free, it takes up part of the power budget in Teemo's kit. He is balanced around having it.

Literally anyone who builds AD gets free auto attack damage with no cooldown (and guess what it's not just adc's who can build this stat). Literally the dumbest argument I've heard all day.

Inkling Commando1 votesbecause that's his gimmick? his has lower than normal AD so that value that was taken from his AD is placed in a DoT ap power. his E. it is basically this:
normal top laner: 80 AD teemo: 60 AD + 5 AP per second for 4 seconds.
until you activate it (by putting a level in it) you are gonna be weaker than normal but you have a point and click blind shot power (Q) to hold you over until you put a point in his E.
