A couple minor tweaks to Illaoi's Test of Spirit mechanics.

  • Tentacles that are spawned by Vessels only have 1 HP instead of 2. In exchange, the spawned tentacles are untargetable until they've completed their initial swing. (The tentacles Illaoi spawns passively remain unchanged.)

  • Vessels only needs to kill two tentacles to break the curse instead of three.

Just some nerfs/tweaks to make the debuff more manageable without completely stripping its power.

I'm not concerning myself with any CDs or damages right now, I just wanted to give my thoughts on the mechanics behind it.

This would be good.

Her tents provide far too much harassment. Had a game where she supported and it just leaves the ADC free to farm for a prolonged period while the opposing ADC and support run around trying to dodge and kill tents.

Well, to be honest, I'm not too concerned with Illaoi support since it's a gimmick. It'll probably taper off once they fix the bug where Spoils of War can execute spirits. At least, I assume it's not supposed to do that.

I'm more interested in making the Vessel debuff not a complete pain to remove in a solo lane.

I don't really find it fair for her to be able to apply the debuff even if the target takes the full damage from the ability. Essentially, tanking it shouldn't cause you to take more damage.

Maybe there is something I'm missing here, but it seems pretty powerful in that regard.

You're supposed to attack Illaoi when she lands her E. Hitting her reduces the spirit's duration, giving her less time to kill it and curse you.

It ties in with her entire character theme. Move forward, and fight for what you want. Nagakabouros doesn't suffer cowards or those who refuse to take action.

Alright, so if you fight her, you can't get the debuff?

When you get hit by Test of Spirit, the spirit lingers for a short time.

If your spirit is killed or if you leave the AoE indicator that appears, that's when you get turned into a Vessel.

You don't become a Vessel if the Spirit times out without dying or you leaving the area. The spirit's duration is reduced if you attack Illaoi, so attacking her gives her less time to attack it.

Alright, got it.

Thinking about it thematically though, shouldn't it deal damage based on targets current hp rather than a flat % of the clone? I mean she's testing their spirit, not taking advantage of when she can't defend themselves. Seems to make more sense to me at least.
