how to counter zed you ask?

the answer is simple, think outside of the box. have you thought about playing or or against him? no you havent, becuase you havent seen any of these picks in LCS so you think its gonna fail. well let me tell you, that i have never lost lane to zed as karthus. NEVER. that is because karthus has so much rnage and spammable poke to make a melee like zed cry for days, and since karthus can run exhaust, zed can never kill you when it is up.

my point is, dont just look at the meta picks to counter a meta pick. the champions in the game are ~120, not just the 20 meta picks. so if you could try to think of something of your own before bitching about the meta, that'd be great.

Yeah probably, and I didn't even buy DFG on him before hand, so just free buffs for me.

Karthus won't work if zed is good. Malz won't work if zed builds qss. Zilean can work but not ideal.

idk, im talking about me playing karthus, and i consider myself good at him ^_^, no idea about anivia i dont play her. if zed builds qss he wont build damage, so thats something. also most zed players wont think of it.

The karthus can work as a lane bully, assuming he's good, but even there it's a skill matchup. Come mid game, zed can split push quite effectively vs karthus and he can't deal with that very well. In team fights, the matchup is pretty even, completely dependent upon the rest of both teams. in true late game, zed should always be able to 1v1 karthus.

So overall, it's not the worst pick against zed, assuming youre good at him, but it's not really a counter either. As for qss, it's 1250 gold now. A slight delay in his build, but it won't affect him too badly.
