People must get this very simple idea inside their heads.
You are supposed to lose 50% of your games. Stop blaming your team.
You are supposed to lose 50% of your games. Stop blaming your team.
You're supposed to love 50% of the games when you're at your actual elo. The problem is just that trolls and afks are keeping me in bronze so I never reach my actual elo. :(
It's not my team's fault I lost. It's my team's fault that I have to sit there miserable while not wanting to play at all. :)
Supposed to lose 50%? What statistical bullshit is this? Just cause RIOT adjusts the game toward that statistic doesn't mean you're SUPPOSED to lose anything.
And when people complain about that losing, it's because they just sat through a 4/20 voli b*tching at them all game or an afk or 2... or 3 people who went 1/15... There's NOTHING you can do to win with that kind of stuff on your team and that's NOT ok.
If you have a real match up vs. a real match up, at the same mmr, then yes, probably going to come down to a throw of the dice most days, or who got mundo cause someone forgot to ban. But that doesn't mean it's YOUR job to try and win every time. My MMR is shit, because I went into ranked not knowing anything. Now I do, and I lose my promos after an 8 game win streak because i have 2 afks and a troll that wants to make touchdowns...
Great post though... seems like you put a lot of effort and thought into it....
It's not that you're supposed to lose, it's that you will probably lose. It's just a fact of the game, of any game. You win some, you lose some. Human error is inevitable so long as we are human.
When I blame the team (mentally mind you, I don't rage at anybody in game), in a sense I'm kinda blaming the team as a whole, me included. Some people don't work well together, or someone was having a bad game and we as a group didn't work around it. It's a team effort, you have to treat it like one.
You are SUPPOSED to lose 50% of the games ? What a shit argument lol
Why are you supposed to lose 50% of your games? Because there's two teams, it's a 50/50 chance you win or lose? That would make sense if everything else was held equal, and it was down to random chance. Which it's not. Dumbest argument I've seen for changing attitudes.
Now if only someone can answer why you still get stuck in the pit of lose 25lp and gain 12lp when you're at 50%.
true. i hate flamers
I feel like I'm supposed to win 100% of my games. When I win matches, I'm like like Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors, I got Klay, Barnes, Green and Bogut backing me up. When I lose matches, I'm like Allen Iverson the Philadelphia 76ers. People acknowledge is a MVP and think I'm HOF material, even though I couldn't carry my team. Still considered a great, but getting shut down because the only person I have to relieve pressure is garbage ass Eric Snow.
If you cannot overcome the mistakes of your allies through some effort of assisting them and all you can offer is a negative attitude toward them then you doom yourself to defeat.
I've been threatened by trolls before and still won those games.
Do you know why?
Because I spoke to them politely and with respect. I recognized them as people and treated them as such. It must have come as a welcoming surprise to them because they ended the games with positive KDA's!
Something about that statement is very offputting, and I don't think it is true at all, My overall winrate throughout the game has been above 50% for example.
So what does that mean? I have the fortune of both having a decent team, while also playing against a bad team while being competent at this game?
There is no winrate a player is suppose to have.
Yeah and no. One shouldn't place blame solely on other people for a loss, but believing that U have to lose 50% of your games and that losses were "meant to be" is stupid.
Basically, I have to disagree. The rule for win rates is 40%, 40%, 20% 40% you will win. 40% you will lose. The last 20% of the games is directly affected by what YOU do. So, play every game NOT to win, but instead, play to get better at the game. [slayer-jinx-wink]
Just because I'm supposed to lose 50% of my games, doesn't give my teammates an excuse to intentionally feed, ignore team pings, afk in the jungle, run in 1v5, etc.
Which still doesn't explain why I am required to have a 66% or 60% win rate to get promoted, but that is besides the point right? Only after I fail my series once do I actually have to have the 50% win rate to actually get promoted which is still a dumb mechanic as is.
