three out of the five finalized ls items completely negate the 15% returned damage, a forth come awfully close (plus masteries its dead on) and the fifth is close enough. add in the keystone and even the scaling is nothing. basically at this point is only worthwhile against bruisers that don't build ls and its really not the way to go against them either. this is the tank anti-adc item (counter-point to the botrk) yet its falls entirely short of what's needed for this role. how about built out of the chain mail and warden's, more armor, slows attack, less crit, just something guys. you might as well just retire it like the sword of the divine after the dodge rework cause its about as useful.

I do feel like I'm being melted like butter even with thornmail by ADCs with a lot of armorpen. Regardless of how much armor you have, even 300+, it still feels like they chunk the shit out of you no matter what.

The problem is not thornmail itself. The problem is too big value of armorpen items. These items are just too good. Why not to make armorpene items more specific, less usefull to do not make them core items. Just look these: item 3036 45% armor pene + 15% total dmg against other champs. This is like sick item for all adc including notranged adcs like riven, yi. It makes me sick so much that I want to vomit when enemys Yi got it and start to deal 2100 damage PER SECOND on full build (not incl critchance/runes/masteries) item 3071 up to 30% armor shreding. Another sick OP item that gives everything that you need. HP, CDR, Arm pene, MS, huge amount of dmg. Cost - only 3100. item 3142 20 armor pene, huge amount of AD, buff to MS, AS, CDR. Another op item that is builded for over 90% AD champions.

The armor pene should be removed from those items. There should be an item that has not good stats, but high armor pene. People playing AD champions should make choice - get more AD, or get some armor pene. Not both of them ffs.

This meta is about DMG that outscales defence in any way.

Thornmail is a pointless, useless and expensive relic. Other than sitting as a situational option for a few champions with abilities dependent on building armor, it has no purpose whatsoever in the current game build.

honestly we need a tank item which reduces the effect of debuffs

like cut their duration or strenght in half

this would be really nice on thornmail

wwith all the armor shred having it be less effective would help alot
