Ranked picks?

I played a couple games of ranked today. One time we had a duo bot lane. They were the last two people to pick however. The second pick after me picked graves to adc, without saying a word. I heard from a friend that they are making teambuilder ranked(idk if thats trustable), however i think its bull crap that people can do that to duo queuers.
