Towers are a crutch for bad players

Remember this.

If you are under tower you are the bad player, you deserve to be punished and dove.

It seems these boards want towers to 1 shot everyone while they are farming PVE style in their little safe space under tower unable to be touched by the enemy who's trying to win the game instead of last hitting AI controlled creeps thinking he's so good.

Maybe League of Legends just isn't the game for you - you know, a PvP (player vs player) game that requires you to actually fight other players and try get an advantage over them to win?

Too many times I see these bad players just auto-concede lane and watch me while I farm waiting for their minion wave to crash under tower. I assume it's the same guys posting here, those who would avoid any sort of trading as much as possible so they can "not feed" and safely farm under the protection of their caring towers.

Guess what? None of these players have been above gold or low platinum, they never learn anything on how to actually win the game by doing this and they put all their cards into their team, that's not the way this game is meant to be played.

Tower is something that is supposed to help you when you are behind, not something that's supposed to win the game for you.

You're not skilled if you are sitting under tower and farming, not at all, you didn't "control" the wave for it to crash under your tower, you are just not trying to lose that's all.

Lastly, don't give me that "Oh but he counterpicked me" bullshit as an argument, being counterpicked doesn't mean you should auto-concede the lane and then write in all chat how XYZ counters you (some games ago I was playing against a Garen - probably one of you guys crying about towers being too weak and he claimed that Renekton counters Garen, then against a Teemo who swore Renekton also counters him and so on) and that's why you lost.

Unless it's an extreme counterpick situation such as Gangplank vs Pantheon, you have no reason not to expect to win the lane by csing better, trading better and just understanding the match up better. You don't need towers for any of that, they are just a crutch for garbage players to rely on.

Oh you got tower dove by 3 people? Should've read the map better. Tower is not your fountain to beam everyone trying to kill you and save you.

i feel like people who make these post have never played any other moba before

I agree with everything he typed and for the record, LoL is not moba that's a ridiculous game genre name it's a team strategy game like HotS and Dota 2 both of which I've played a lot of, especially Dota 2.

So many truths are written in this post.... Well just to be fair in season 4 or 5 unless REALLY ahead of the enemy laner you couldnt towerdive him and be over 95% certain that you wont die and trade kill for kill or the enemy outplay you and lose cs and exp. For example nowadays i hit lv 6 with Renekton and i have ignite up thats equals i towerdive the enemy ,I kill him, back out the tower, then push the minion wave to the tower and recall back to base to buy items. Great post overall, get my upvote.

So... take away ALL TOWER DAMAGE. Fuck'em. Let's just make them new objectives that have 20,000 hp. You can crit them now, too.

It's just a death match, right?

TitanAnteus2 votes

They've got to clean up minions or the game would have too many active objects.

Also, it's not a death match as the person who gets Nexus wins, not the team with the most kills. Kills give you an advantage allowing you to secure enemy Nexus more easily however.

But yeah, if all towers did was attack minions I wouldn't really mind all that much. Games would be much shorter and trash players wouldn't have any layer of safety so they'd quit instead of getting better. Good riddance.

That is crazy actually. Imagine 5 players walking to the enemy team's fountain when ahead and camping them instead of getting objectives and ending the game.

To be fair with this snowball meta you can't be too careful. If i was to end up giving a kill to e.g. an Irelia, or a Zed, I'd be fine just playing a bit safer and that's the end of it. Dying 2 or 3 times, however, of course I'm gonna stick with tower, at least until my jg comes, because otherwise my laner gets fed and we insta-lose (I mean, I have the sense to poke and harass a lot in these situations but that's just my own playstyle).

If you gave up 2-3 kills already and you tower hug, then you should expect that the player who managed to kill you 2-3 times will be able to dive you with the advantage he accumulated. That's just fair for both sides.

You will gain the assistance of the tower helping, but it's up to you not to die from him while being under the tower.

I'm not saying you shouldn't EVER be under the tower - like I said in my original post - towers are there to help you when you are behind (scenario you described), but they won't win the game for you

CauseSCIENCE1 votes

Yeah I see, thx, but what exactly could riot do about it? They can't remove towers altogether (genuinly curious how this could be solved, it's very dependant on the player's personal playstyle rather than a game mechanic).

Riot shouldn't do anything about it, I'm talking to the players constantly whining how towers aren't winning them the game for them

This post is a complete joke xD

Most players that are Diamond and above use this strategy to win their lane. Setting up waves to freeze near their tower so that they are safe while farming against another player whose champion is likely to counter them is a great way to turn the tides of your disadvantage in champ select.

It is the way the game is meant to be played. It's called 'strategy', not 'lets buttfuck top lane at 1 and see who decides the lane.' I'm assuming by your post that you play Renekton, a classic early game lane bully who is designed to punish people for trying to cs and trade early in the game.

"Unless it's an extreme counterpick situation such as Gangplank vs Pantheon, you have no reason not to expect to win the lane by csing better, trading better and just understanding the match up better. You don't need towers for any of that, they are just a crutch for garbage players to rely on."

So you're saying that people who play to their advantage in a strategy game are bad.

Not a lot of champs are gonna want to fight Renekton levels 1-6, doesn't mean they're shit at the game for doing so.

Maybe instead of whining about not being able to towerdive level 1-6, you should learn how to play around that, like most people do in strategic PvP games.

" PvP (player vs player) game that requires you to actually fight other players and try get an advantage over them to win?"

Fight doesn't mean it has to be physical, I can fight you by denying your ability to kill me by playing safe, thus slowly draining your early game power just by surviving and allowing my jungler to easily come up and kill you.

Personally I feel that tower diving should require some sort of pre-established lead (such as already low health, enemy is already ahead etc.). Sometimes, when I'm playing against a very explosive champion like Talon or Leblanc, I'll just cs from under tower using my abilities. I'm not sure if it is the same thing you are referencing in this post, but I don't find it to be much of a problem.

wow, youre short sighted.

youre treating this game as if all champions were equal in strength at all stages of the game.

the truth is, that some champions completely obliterate certain champions in the early game. there are even champions that beat other specific champions at all stages of the game without a possibility to win for the weaker side.

Vayne Tristana Teemo beat almost every single melee champion without a hard gap closer from start to finish with literally no chance for their opponents to fight them. their kits just hard counter champions like Garen Udyr to the point where there is no possible play they could make on their opponent that they can win (were assuming the people who are playing these ranged champions dont make iron 4 levels of mistakes but simply play the lane out normal) if neither side makes a grave mistake, it would be impossible for these melee champions to lane against these ranged champions.

the same goes for Nasus vs. Trundle

nasus gets destroyed by trundle in a direct fight at every stage of the game. if he couldnt avoid fighting his opponent in the early game by playing at his turret, nasus would never be anything but a troll pick.

using your turret to your advantage to cover yourself from a stronger champion is a neccessary strategy in this game.

then there is the fact that 2 man turret dives in solo lanes exist. if you didnt have the protection of your turret, every single jungle gank on champions without escapes would be a guaranteed kill.

as far as Garen vs. Renekton goes, renekton has the advantage. between a good garen and a good renekton, the renekton beats garen off his sustain advantage, higher damage during early levels, superior waveclear, and the ability to dash up to the garen and waiting how he reacts with his w. the garen has to play a guessing game when the renekton autos him with his stun, which makes the play unreliable on garens side. the only way for garen to win a trade vs. renekton is to w parry renektons w. but the pressure to predict it lies with garen.

I'd argue that good players know how to maneuver around towers(except for akali). Removing them would just cater to bad ones more then anything else.
