I want Darius to be a good champion and actually worth picking without being called a troll

Is that so much to ask for guys? Everytime I pick him I am told to pick Gnar, Rumble, Irelia, Kennen, or somebody else because they have as strong(not Irelia) a laning phase as Darius, or a stronger laning phase(Gnar and Kennen, and Rumble if played correctly) and a pretty decent teamfight.

Darius can only win lane, after that he is useless for most of the game unless he was steamrolling his lane and the jungler.

Honestly, Darius's job is to win lane, he can't even do that when ranged champs do that 100% better than him vs melees.

Vayne, a champ who has a "weak" early game, beats Darius in lane by default, because she's ranged and has a lot of safety.
