Has anyone else just abstained from bot lane because of Blitzcrank alone?

I seriously can't trust myself to not be open for half a second before blitzcrank pulls me into his minions and adc. The way this champ can change games instantly pisses me off with how little skill there is involved to do so. You can't safely ward any objectives with this champ around nor can you be within his range for a fraction of a second. I hate having to lane against this champ in every way possible. And yes I'd like fries with my salt.

My only problem with him is that no matter how well you play, no matter how many grabs you dodge, 1 time he gets you and GG.

Not really, ig you are ahead enough if he pulls you it can end up in a bad enagage for him (depending if your support has quick enough reflexes to counterengage or if the support itself was the one pulled) I have seen Blitz pull a graves several times just to see graves burst down the enemy adc, same with lucian and a few ashes. but if it is a tie lane, yeah he can be oppresive, same with a poke lane that don't favor all ins (cait I'm looking at you)

Then Blitz? Hell no. Those champions are annoying at times, but when you compare them to the cancer that is Blitzcrank they look like angels from heaven.

Her heals might be annoying, but it's simple to focus her. She's strong in her own right, but not downright irritating to lane against.

Annie, Thresh, and Tahm on the other hand...

The reason Blitz is so "anti-fun" is because he was designed to punish squishy compositions. If Riot didn't enforce the ADC/support composition for bot, then people would be forced to act like people do in other MOBAs, i.e. assigning champs based off matchup rather than ADC/Supp has to be bot, mage/assassin has to be mid etc... Pre S1 people would actually grab {{summoner:2}} to see what the lane matchup was so they would get favorable results, now if a mage wanders bot and does well against the predetermined comp bot they get nerfed into oblivion (Veigar). Prior to the enforced comps blitz was easily countered and balanced, the fact that he is good against 2 squishies with bad early games doesn't mean he's imbalanced, it means that was a bad matchup.

I main ADC and I never fear Blitz. Once I dodge his hook I get free poke, provided my support isn't being an absolute bitch (which is all too often).

I'm not sure where that mentality comes from. It's a champ with one skillshot that can instantly turn a match into a 4v5. You can dodge all his hooks all day and that single one that he lands will cripple your team.

Because you, much like 90% of the people on the Boards who complain about X champion, have absolutely no concept of counterplay or champion balance, and thus think your personal experience is reliable in determining a champion's effectiveness, when this couldn't be further from the truth.

Notice how much Blitzcrank is played in competitive and high elo? Not a whole lot. Know why? Lack of consistency and zero lane presence once the hook is down, as well as teamfight presence.

A champion with one skillshot that can instantly a turn a match into a 4v5? Since when? Ezreal can Arcane Shift during the pull to negate it completely. Mashing Flash after you are pulled by an inexperience Blitzcrank (or pre-6 Blitzcrank) will result in getting away prior to the knockup. Sivir can spellshield the grab, Morgana can spellshield the grab, many champions have mobility like Vayne to dodge it, and many champions even when pulled can very easily get away (Corki Valkyrie, support Thresh pulls ADC in, ADC Kalista pulls support in, etc.). And that's just the bottom lane champons.

i dont mind playing against blitzcranks cause i can dodge skillshots/have good positioning as an adc but i absolutely hate to get a blitzcrank on my team cause with blitz they are either a god or absolute garbage theres not really a inbetween

dunno, I main blitz as support, but usually if I'm playing against a blitz as adc or another support, then i just make sure to ward the near bush, and rush sightstone so i can ward more efficiently. If my adc gets caught, it's their own fault for positioning badly.

yea, wards have always been the hard blitz counter, but a lot of people try to argue that upgrading their ward trinket is a waste of money, so that stupidity leads to the conclusion that blitz is hard to play against.

I won't avoid it, no, but it is dreadful when the other guy cannot dodge any hooks. And yeah its extremely annoying how Blitz changes the entire way you have to play the game.

No, I tend to avoid bot lane because a) I am terrible at ADC and b) it's the lane that requires the most teamwork (between the two players), and that can be very hit-or-miss in soloQ.

But if I had to name a champion whose presence bot would make me want to get as far away from it as possible, it would be Kalista, or possibly Thresh.

Personally i think Naut is just as bad if not worse than Blitz right now for the exact same reasons but is seemingly better at doing them than blitz is.

A good blitz player who lands grabs frequently annoys everyone.

Only real counter play to it is picking someone Blitz does NOT want to grab and body block it. I typically just auto lock Alistar or Leona if I know i'm against blitz.

You can do this for any role also. If they pick blitz, best bet is to counter with unsafe champions to grab or ones that can stall in the middle of the enemy team. Lissandra does great at this.

I think Morgana is a pretty good counter.

It's pretty funny when the ADC flashes as Blitz grabs them, but you shield him so visually Blitzcrank's hand reaches a mile out to touch the ADC.

I picked up Lulu for the sole reason of countering that... thing.

My rage and memories of my pre-30 noob days where every game had Blitz and I had the misfortune of being a support main with Sona... suffice to say, I poke down Blitz nowadays with a vengeance. They fear me.
