Classifying Heals and Shields

Similar to how damage has many classifications, I think that heals and shields should also get such classification so items and masteries can be better balanced for such a things. Self-Heals are included here. Think like Single Target, AoE, and DoT. However, for heals and shields, it is instead categorized into similar categories of varying types:

  1. Single Target Heal/Shield (0% Modification) A heal/shield on a single target that is not delayed or over time. Spell vamp is seen as a single target heals.
  2. AoE Heal/Shield (-2.5% Modification) A heal/shield on multiple targets. Can be delayed or over time, but will be categorized as AoE Delayed or AoE Over Time, gaining mixed benefits between the two categories.
  3. HoT (Heal Over Time)/SoT (Shield Over Time) (+2.5% Modification) A heal/shield that is granted little by little over time.
  4. Delayed Heal/Shield (+5% Modification) A heal/shield that is gained from an outside source that one has to move to get to or a heal/shield that is put on a target and then happens after a delay. If the delayed heal/shield is over time, then it is boosted by healing increasing effects more than other delayed healing/shield.
  5. No Limit (Passive) Heal/Shield (-5% Modification) A heal/shield that is gained through passive means, such as basic attacks or passives that do not interact with abilities or have a significant cool down (Over 10 seconds). Life steal and health regeneration are seen as No Limit Heals.

I will now categorize each heal and shield into each category to fit.

Tell me if I missed anything. Now, you might ask yourself, why do this? FOR BALANCE OF COURSE! There is only one such thing (Windspeaker's) that this could currently apply to, but this opens room for more items for Sustain Supports and the likes. For example, Windspeaker's could now read as:

Windspeaker's Blessing Your heals and shields are increased by 10%. This modifier is increased and decreased based on aspects of your heal or shield. Area of Effect: -2.5% Heal/Shield Over Time: +2.5% Delayed: +5% Passive (no limit): -5% Your heals and shields on allies will also increase their armor by 5-22 and magic resistance by 2.5-11 (based on level).

This opens new means of creating and balancing items. What do you guys think on this subject?

Except AoE shields/heals (rare as they are) aren't the problem. Soraka is.
