The History of Top Lane and how I learned to stop reading the boards

After watching this video by Exil, discussing the history of League and specifically the top lane meta, it really gave me a new perspective on this game and what I missed in the past. Or maybe didn't miss, but had the privilege of not being subjected to. I thought this was a tank meta, but actually this season has been fairly balanced in comparison with past seasons.

The board culture is not biased at all. /s

The constant complaints about power creep and damage escalation seem to be exaggerated at best. My gosh, League players are a bunch of entitled brats. Riot has only changed for the better throughout its history and none of you can appreciate the fact that they give a damn about what you think (I mean whine about on cue) these days. Most of you are probably mage/bruiser players who had it real good in the past and just want to jerk off to how awesome you are because you flatlined at Gold 5 last year.

Things are always going to be frustrating in a competitive environment. Metas are always going to change. There are always going to be rough patches. But I am sick and tired of all this "Season 3 was the best, everything else is downhill", "ADCs and supports are the only roles that matter in this game", "Wah, Duskblade", "Tanks are the only viable champs", and "Damage is 500x what it used to be!!!1!!11!"

No wonder Rioters avoid these boards so much. This place is full of people wearing their hipster nostalgia glasses and it has put a bent on my view of things with this game, but no more. Not gonna allow my enjoyment of League to be distorted by senior players who are stuck in the past and tunnel vision on only their bruiser and mage characters. Confirmation bias is an easy mode to live by. Just keep chanting that ADCs are OP, guys!

So I've learned my lesson and decided to chin up and just have fun. I think the boards are best served when ignoring the majority of forums and sticking to helping newbs or mucking around in nonsense threads with that Is SO Hot person. You're pretty chill, bruh.
