Viktor Top nerf suggestions

Without nerfing Viktor damage across the board, I believe Riot should nerf the shield and the movement speed he gets from his Q when it's augmented. If they don't go with the shield nerf, they need to bump the CD of his Q by probably 2 seconds at every single rank due to the fact that he builds 40% CDR. I do think that the movement speed nerf from an augmented Q is a necessity though because that champion is too damn fast with a perma-slow from Iceborne Gauntlet. Going through with these nerfs would target top lane Viktor the most since when he's played mid lane, you tend to max and augment E over Q and a majority of your damage is coming from E rather than Q.

I want to see his Base damages nerfed but increase his scalings. This reduces the power of low damage builds like tank viktor, while maintaining the power of what he is supposed to build

Just remove iceborn gautlet.

Almost no one who is meant to use it, uses it (tanky champs looking for a little damage like Ornn Skarner Malphite Maokai ). These champions will survive without this item. We have plenty of CDR options and if we're that desperate we can grab lich bane

It is instead almost only ever bought by people who can abuse the ever living shit out of it through their kit of because their base damages were insanely high Ekko Fizz Gangplank Ezreal Ryze Nasus and now Viktor.

It has only ever caused problems. So let's get rid of it

Why nerf what isnt broken? Stop picking champs that IBG viktor counters, and stop playing like a punani against him.

Vikky is weak to strong all ins unless ahead, like most battlemages.

just make his goddamn shield scale with ap instead of mana.

its not difficult. mid lane mage viktors dont care, and top lane tank viktor gets his interaction with gauntlet nerfed.

Not only is he annoying, but he just makes the lane phase the most boring shit in the world. I find it more boring than a tank v tank wet noodle fight.

On one hand we have Teemo, a guy who has only seen nerfs since season 2, and whose kit is so weak that no one has ever played him in real matches. For some reason, Riot wants to ignore these "unimportant" champions (Trynd, Malph, Panth to name a few more. Yes, Panth is broken against some champs, but his gamestyle is pathetic. Point-click with no strategy and lose hard as game progresses). Such linear gameplays have made them too weak to even be considered for good matches.

On the other hand, we have champs like Vik, Aatrox, Ryze, Yasuo, Orianna, Urgot, Ornn, Tahm... champs that have multiple things in one ability and who can offer too many things even after being completely bad at game knowledge. A bronze player playing Ornn will be more respected in a team than a plat Teemo. They have shields, cc, high base damage, mobility, various builds to move around, and Riot's pure love. For some reason, they are always getting tweaked with the promise of finding the right balance, but there is always a way to abuse them simply because of the amount of diversity their abilities offer.

Vik players need to press one q, a freaking point click, that can give him more than what any of the linear gameplay champions have in their whole kit. If Riot doesn't think he needs a nerf, then they are lying about balancing the game. Also, stop tweaking Aatrox Ryze and Ornn thousand times a year and work on champs that really need a rework.

Or, they could just remove kleptomancy since it is a problematic rune from the start and make something better for the inspiration tree.

Like what is so "insipirational" about right clicking anyway?

The problem is the range and his desire to pickpocket using Kleptomancy. He is a 550 attack range champion which makes him uber safe to get his proc's going. If they reduced his attack range to 450 or 500, it'd force him to step closer past his minions to get an item or some gold. Additionally they can allow him to gain back the range once he uses his Q in conjunction with his movement speed buff to get an item, then have it return to 500 or 450 attack range.

This would allow him to keep the playstyle of toplane Viktor intact while preserving his damage all around. The only drawback is that he can't always reliably basic attack for harass and stack the damage ticks form Corrupting Potion. Otherwise he'll draw minion aggro a lot quicker.

He wouldn't be the only mage with low attack range either. Vlad and Morg have 450 attack range as well and they do just fine with their long ranged spells anyways.

So really this would encourage mid lane Viktor rather than top. He'd still do fine against melee match ups and so-so in ranged match ups.

Lol is a team game, which means that you have a friend in midland who can swap with you to make your life a whole lot easier. I was with an Urgot Laning against a Viktor Top. I swapped in (Annie) and he went mid against Liss, and we ended up winning the game!
