@meddler: atmas reckoning does not share the same design space with titanic hydra

it was a poor reason to not include the item in the preseason update.

item 3005 backloaded ad for juggernauts, that ramps up slowly over the course of a fight and increases ability damage instead of just auto attacks. some resistances to make health from other items a bit more effective.

its a lategame item that requires at least 2 to 3 health items before it becomes effective.

fighters who would like this item: Illaoi Darius Garen Aatrox and other ad fighters who scale with abilitiy damage.

item 3748 frontloaded burst damage from the auto reset and large damage on the active. improved waveclear and aoe damage. on hit damage that scales up with attack speed.

effective a lot earlier than atmas. either as a second item or even on its own when its completed.

fighters who like titanic hydra: Yorick Trundle Olaf Warwick Udyr basically fighters with inbuilt attack speed steroids and who deal most of their damage with basic attacks.

if youre afraid that some champions might become too strong by stacking both of those items, just give them same name passives. considering both of these items have health scaling damage passives, it would logically make sense in this case.

but saying that these items are too similar and share the same design space is poor reasoning to not include them in the preseason update.

the same goes for item 3161 and item 3053

steraks is an anti burst item for juggers. shojin is an item that increases defenses for divers with more enemies around. i dont see how theyre even similar other than some of their base stats.

Honestly, if Atmas was added to the game I would build it every game over item 3748 on Trundle .

I'd honestly build it on some tanks like Shen. MR, Armour and free AD why the hell not? Considering tanks will have the highest overall health pool and a lot of tanks actually do have high base ADs at level 1 and 18.

ok, fine? i dont see why, since trundle benefits more from the upfront burst and on hit damage, but there are still enough champions whod pick one over the other.

It's too expensive imo for a champion that doesn't really need to build damage to be relevant. He primarily picks it up for the waveclear, since his pushing and clearing speeds are slow without it. He doesn't really scale as a damage source, so his damage items either should be cheap and/or provide cdr (hp and cdr are his best stats).

Most games end too quickly to bother upgrading Tiamat, as hp and resistances are more important, especially if the enemy team starts snowballing. Rushing Titanic Hydra does nothing for him, since unless fed his damage starts falling off hard by mid-game.

Atmas has a reasonable price and builds from Aegis, making it the far more attractive option for a champion that rarely can afford to build damage.

But what about both? My God couldn't some champions abuse it?!
