So I just lost two ranked games

Now I am at 8 LP. The part that gets me is that I lose 24 LP. this would be fine if I win 24 LP,or even 20 or so. However my mmr has seemed to plummeted when i move up a tier,now I win 11 LP. Strangely enough,when i get demoted to the previous tier(which i have) the mmr does not improve. So after an insane amount of time and dedication,all that bs etc,I am now 8 points better than when i got here from games im pretty sure i couldn't have helped. wth? am i not supposed to play ranked till placements next season?

Its basically rank locking.

It's an ass-backwards system where they "think" you are where you should be or that you deserve to be lower, so they make your gains incredibly small in order to try and force you down or keep you where you are.

League is literally the only game that uses this system; for good reason. It's incredibly harsh and discourages gradual improvement/getting better over time. Basically every other game out there (Starcraft, Call of Duty, Dead or Alive, Street Fighter etc.) with a system like League makes victories ALWAYS worth more than defeats except in the cases of extreme upsets.

EDIT: In order to "break it" you'll need to go on massive, massive win streak. Probably in the range of 15-20 games undefeated, or maybe 1/2 defeats at most.

well thats bull. the sad part is that I know i can crush half if not all the players in this tier (silver) but losses are inevitable.

I've heard of this before where your gains are so small but you lose crap tons of LP

Anyone more knowledgeable wanna explain this phenomenon for me >.>

Hey man, I had this problem at Diamond, with the implementation of Master Tier. (In case you're not aware, Master Tier lowered every Diamond player's MMR by about 300)

It took me 25 games of Talon (21 wins and 4 losses) to restore my MMR. Now that I've finally fixed it, I am now Diamond 4, and no longer Diamond 5.

If you deserve to be where you are, or higher, you won't have a problem fixing your MMR.

And trust me - FIX YOUR MMR IN PRESEASON. Your placements start where your MMR is, not where your division is. Are you Plat 5 with Gold 5 MMR? Your placements start at Gold 5. Youch!

Fix it now, before placements!!
