When your teemo top laner goes "gg no tank"
Facepalm
Facepalm
I'm not a teemo player, but you can't just blame your top laner for not playing a tank. 3 roles often can play tanks: Top, Jungle, and Support. If you're in a ranked game, and the top laner has first pick and they pick a squishy top laner they can totally blame jungle and support if they also pick squishy champs and the team has no tank. The same is true if support or jungle is first pick, then they can blame the top laner if they don't pick a tank.
I guess my point is there are plenty of meta top laners that aren't tanks, so just because someone didn't pick a tank in the top lane doesn't mean they can't complain about having no frontline.
I think it should be based on pick order, instead of just assuming the top laner isn't a team player because they didn't pick a tank.
No, you can't blame your teammates for picking something that they want to play just because you think it fits with the team comp that YOU wanted.
The opposite is true. They can't blame you for not fitting in the comp that they wanted. They isn't collective, as a group. "They" could be individual; The Yasuo mid, the Vayne ADC, the Brand Support, the Master Yi jgl, etc.
you are wrong
Actually it is pretty ignorant behavior. Locking whatever the hell you want without a care for the team comp and then complaining about the team comp. When I pick soraka and zyra into top lane I don't then turn around and complain that there are no tanks. I picked a role generally expected to be covered by someone tankier and put soraka... zyra or teemo in there. It was teemo who tried to force everyone else into a role he wanted and he was wrong to think just because he would pick teemo top that everyone else would pick up the slack and play tanks.
I don't think its fair to blame the support. One support doesn't usually make for enough of a front line. Either the jg or top needs to pick a tank or fighter. Probably both if your support is going mage support
Support tanks still get tanky enough and can very easily front line by themselves if they do well or play smartly. As long as Teemo picked before both jungle and support, you can't fault him for a no tank comp. The same is true for both of the other roles when they pick squishy champions in their roles first. The only time you can't fault somebody for complaining about comp when they were in a position that could fix it, is when they are a late pick.

But on a more serious note, it's totally possible the support is the only tank you NEED while top and jg play carry champs that give a further advantage in teamfights as long as they have at least one player front-lining.
funny thing is I hate when people act like supports are perfect golden children who can do no wrong
but I just don't think a Leona 2-3 levels below everyone else is going to be the only tank/fighter you need realistically. you just cant have teemo top shaco jg it does not work out well. its like having a team with 0 AP threats, maybe worse.
The team comp matter more on champs than the class (there is definitely a correlation though) Like Jayce top with Nid jungle for a poke comp, then some tank support like Braum for necessary peel and possible engage.
It all really just depends on the team itself, you could even go no tanks and win on pure cc and damage without needing anyone to soak some up.
except since ranged tops are so popular and riot doesn't really seem to care, only 2 roles can viably pick tanks
What about Gnar ? Isn't he both?
When your jungler goes afk at level 5, your adc goes 0/12/3, and you post to complain about the Teemo.
Sounds about right.
GG no tank

CAPTAIN TEETO ON DUTTY
Teemo is a pretty crappy pick if we're being honest guys.
His laning phase is deadly for certain champions, but after that? He's pretty much just a pest. If the person laning against Teemo realizes the hell they're going through is only going to last so long, they can easily group for objectives and win the game, especially if that team has no tank.
Teemo is a selfish pick, and I support your right to make bad decisions because nobody should tell anyone who they should pick. I'm a support main and I really hate that. Just realize that you are hurting your team with those picks most of the time, which ultimately ends up hurting yourself. Obviously the person OP was playing with doesn't get that.
I hate that when people tell me what to play "tank support please"
I don't get into games and say " don't play ezreal please, don't play twitch please" smh.

After the landing phase he becomes an assassin :P
That's pretty much because he's left purposely weak due to his toxic kit. Teemo has barely had any changes since the beta days of League - though can't really blame the squishy top laner if they're one of the first picks. Both junger and support roles can also play tanky champs as well.
To be honest, I've played Teemo for years and personally love his hit and run gameplay; however, would love to see a rework for him to give a better teamfighting potential for the little guy. He's a marksmen that is pretty much forced to go top lane due to his low range and ap scalings which make him a poor choice as an adc. Regardless, won't deny that there are many troll players who pick Teemo; however, don't judge us all as the same folks.

Good point. I wanted to address the whole first pick top laner thing, and this isn't to you specifically but I just started reading some of the replies here.
First pick doesn't give you an excuse to ignore team composition. You don't even need an excuse to do that because it isn't against the rules and sometimes composition doesn't even matter. In close games it does.
If you're going top lane, always use pick intent. If you're below the support or jungler in the pick order, how will they know what to pick? I'm a support main, and I'm more than willing to attempt to fill out what we're missing, but you also need to remember two important things about the support role.
We are normally 3-4 levels behind everyone else, no matter how well we do, and our income is by far the smallest and with must-buy support items. We are inferior to laning tanks in terms of sustain, but we do bring the lock down. If jungle and top lane are both picking something like Rengar top and Teemo top, you still need to be extra cautious when team fighting comes around, especially if one or more of you lost lane.
Not only that, but I'm supposed to get my ADC through their laning phase. Bot lane is so deadly early game now, so I'm not going to be picking Leona (the tank I play) into something like Miss Fortune and Zilean if I can help it. If we die, the enemy ADC snowballs quickly.
I also see a lot of people making excuses for playing squishy picks top. Own it. There are many proper tanks that do so well in this meta like Illaoi and Nasus, and then there are fighters that are still great picks like Irelia, Renekton, and Darius. If you're going to play Yasuo, Kennen, and Teemo top then just own it. You aren't doing anything wrong, but don't complain about no tanks.
I automatically block and ignore the existence of anybody that picks teemo.
This is actually more common than you think, I personally and others I know automatically mute and block after a game.
Teemo is a "fun" pick, he has no place in ranked.
If you are winning with Teemo, it means you are at a pretty low elo.
God does this piss me off. I play assassin jgs, and I can understand that you might want a tank. Pick a tank yourself then. I play best with my comfort picks, if a tank means that much to you then take matters into your own hands.
I play him support. I don't play tank supports anyways.
I play Sona soraka or lulu.
However tankmo support works best.
You buy a frozen mallet zzrot and ages for team MR
Sightstone and support items are core.
Still experimenting. Best route.
Never in ranked. I'm a casual.

Don't downvote, he at least keeps it out of ranked.

I'm used to down votes when I talk in gameplay anyways.
I gave up on ranked a long time ago and realized I don't care about being the best but having fun.
Sense then I don't rage as much when I do bad or when people take my kills even when I'm adc. It doesn't matter anymore really.
You wanna try hard? Go to ranked.
If I catch people raging in normals I make them more salty and push their buttons.. And if they get salty enough.. I report them.
I'm a horrible person for how many times I get the report feedback.
I may not be the best but I'm a dann fun person to play with.
Do weird shot like AP Caitlyn top for all I care.. My friend actually tried.. He succeeded for a short while but then it went downhill. Lol
Again NOT IN RANKED. Lol
Yeah I would just do normals, but most of the people I play with consider unranked games to be a bit of a waste. Fortunately I can avoid most of the salt by playing in groups of 3+.
Last year actually, over 50% of my games were probably in hide and seek. I still miss Crystal Scar for that mode. Even with all the trolls, it was extremely fun.
When that same Teemo had first or second pick and the OP is last pick jungle and takes non-tank. #Facepalm

I'm still waiting for a list of the entire Team Picks which the thread hasn't mentioned yet. I mean this is a good point but maybe some players ( Picked ) hero's that could have been considered Tank Built. Like Yasuo
he pretty much goes anywhere and kills it .... TankMo really? Teemo should never be a melee lane main counter pick, I punt that thing all the time because its mostly harass and in the hands of a LoL player it would never work, considering no one in this game no the meaning of (back-off, defend )
Always going for the kill farm's diving into enough minion damage to equal 2 Teemo deaths consecutive ....
Not really the players fault, just what happens when a game is sooo... limited.
So how 'bout that team pick list, I'm no hero
tankmo is op
When I'm support first pick:
sup
top
ADC
jun
mid
Welp. I hope the other team has no engage what-so-ever or we're F'ed.
Version 2: When I'm mid last pick.
mid:
/
going tank.

"report mid for trolling."
Version 3: When I'm top last pick.
sup
"we need a tank"
ADC
"we need a tank"
jun
"top can tank"
mid
"top, pick a tank"
top
"I got a tank"
Braum's a support. Report top for trolling.
Why would you pick Braum top? Report top for trolling.
I'm just part of the pre-made. Report top for trolling.
We need engage. Report top for trolling.
Seriously? We have a shit-ton of poke, no defense, and no possible way to follow up on an engage. This is the best possible pick for our comp. . . . Report Top for throwing another computer out the window.
Version 4: When I'm ADC last pick.
Top
jun
mid
sup
ADC
And reported again. F . M . L .
Version 5: When I jungle.
Ya..... This doesn't happen. I make wood 7 junglers look good by comparison.
Support main problems.
Braum top is fun and all but under no circumstance is it "the best possible pick"
"the best possible pick for our comp"
You don't have to win lane as long as you don't feed and snowball the other person (unless they're Susan - then Braum is just boned). With a comp like that, Braum is a weak pick in lane but his wall and peel make him ideal once mid game rolls around.
And I'm saying under no circumstances. I don't care what your composition is there's always a better choice than braum top.
: F$%? it I`m going tank

Just play Tankmo the Global Taunt.
When your teemo builds tankmo and carries the game
if he was first or second pick thats pretty fair considering 2 other roles can pick tank but im pretty sure " muh team" had more to do with that gg

So can mid!
Somewhat tanky mid/close range middle laners:

Really tanky middle laners:

Can make someone a tank:
(Tahm Kench mid is sort of a thing .)
Urgot and Mordekaiser could also go bot lane.
Poke comps can be pretty devastating in SoloQ, no brainless front line smashing into the enemy lines 1v5 then crying about "wtf where's my team"

Except teemo provides 0 poke due to his extremely short range.
Just enough range to make life hell for melees, not enough range to be of any use in teamfights. Definition of a selfish pick.
But but.... That shroom bounce no one uses....
I use it but i'm a teemo main sooooo XD Teemo is mainly good for decimating a front line or killing split pusher's, it's what he's good at.
Except teemo provides 0 poke due to his extremely short range.
shrooms are global poke my friend hahaa
both support and jungle have viable choices to tank, why top always gets called out for wanting to play someone that does hurty things is beyond me. just like how only the adc is blamed for low damage while mid is oom from minions at a mighty 2/9/1...
yea because tanks are never played as support or jungle
anyway teemo could just have build tank because he has a global taunt
The lack of zombie brand sticker in this post disturbs me [zombie-brand-facepalm]
Same for me but jungler and support (supports cant really tank but they can compliment the tank) and no my fighter is not a tank and im not going to engage for you the team isnt engageing together for 5 mins im going to split push and im not comming back because im not sitting in mid while you guys throw out spells and only i get hit but i dont have spells to poke with.
Top laner doesn't have to be a tank. Jungle can go tank. Support can go tank. Your mid laner can pick a frontline mage. If you care about the game you're about to play you have the choice to fill in on what's missing and help out yourself and your team, instead of complaining.
