I'm just wondering: What's the sales hook on buying Masterwork chests, or doing events to earn tokens toward Prestige Skins....... if the number of prestige skins on the market is less than the opportunities to earn them?

Where's that number coming from, are you counting all the passes as prestige points? Did they announce more points? Anyway the answer is easy; you wouldn't expect everyone to buy into every opportunity for points while there are more prestige skins than that.

I think Snowdown also had 25, but I'm not sure (they didn't have the 100 Prestige prize there).
My point is this is partially a paid service, especially since there are usually event vouchers involved to participate up to 2000-2200 tokens needed to purchase them.
If you are participating, you're going to have surplus points, that you paid for, and they will expire at the end of the year. There should be every opportunity to spend every point you've earned.
Sona Ping1 votesI agree with that and will add that it is bullshit that they expire at all, as well as a few other things about them. Separate from that: There were the event skins for those, so some would not take the points and there is supposed to be more skins coming out to use those points on as well.

125 per event gives you a chance to miss one of them and still get all 4 point-based skins.
