Tank Ekko

Okay so I bought Ekko about a month ago and fell in love. People said he was super powerful a while ago having his ultimate cost no mana and that he's not good as a tank anymore. I recently started experimented with Tank Ekko and I've had good results.

Usual build: Cinderhulk, Rod of Ages, Rylai's Crystal Scepter with Mercury's Treads. Then you choose 2 of either a Warmog's Armor, Guardian Angel or Spirit Visage. You've still got about 300 AP while having over 4000 health. I find it's pretty good. Tell me what you guys think and maybe try it yourself. NO INSULTS: I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANY RUDENESS. Tanku!

I would scrap the warmogs at the end as you have enough hp in that build and go with something that has some more armor or MR depending on what you need. Maybe a Zhonya item 3157 ? Instead?

Yeah. But that's if you want a little more AP. With the build I listed I have 300 AP but then along with armor magic resist and over 4000 health. You can always alter the build, but Cinderhulk, Rod of Ages, Rylai's and Mercury Treads are essential in this build.

The only reason I suggested a item 3157 was due to your build containing so much raw HP but it didn't seem to have any armor or magic resist. Was pretty much wanting to keep your build the same as I do think it could be viable but there are all ways those games where having that extra armor from item 3157 might save your life or maybe adding some extra mr by choosing item 3001. Plus both those are solid defense items with AP that are great on Ekko. You might be losing a nice chunk of hp by choosing not to go with warmogs but the added MR/Armor in some situations could benefit you a lot more than just more pure hp. Especially when considering a last item for your build.
You could also think about getting a item 3742 as ekko can make good use of this item as well. All items I named are situational and since you plan on putting these items towards the end of your build they might be worth checking out and trying.

i prefer runeglaive over cinderhulk whenever i feel like playing him

it just feels better to have with the sheen and the mana sustain while clearing

Yeah. But if you're playing a tank Ekko you want to have Cinderhulk just for that HP.

I usually go right into dmp after it, so I can still be reasonably durable

but rip diversity next year since it's getting removed

Warmog's does not synergize very well with Ekko, a item 3157 is much, much better. Ekko depends on diving into the enemy team and an hourglass is invaluable.

Rod of Ages as your 2nd item is kinda meh as well, takes too long for that to get it's full use and an Ekko I'm not a big fan of it.

I think a build like this would be better for jungle tank Ekko imo (Although I have never played it):

item 1401 item 3157 item 3110 item 3116 item 3065 item 3111

Runeglaive would probably be better than cinderhulk though imo. It gives the sheen proc damage along with 10% CDR, which would give the above build 40% CDR as well.

I don't like Frozen Heart as how it doesn't give any HP for the Cinderhulk. Rod of Ages gives the second most AP of ANY item in the game after Rabadon's Deathcap. So combined the AP with health and mana it's pretty good for a AP tank.

HP is pretty underwhelming on Ekko I think you are prioritizing it too highly imo. The armor that frozen heart brings along with it's utility is quite good since you're constantly going to be close to your enemies, and the zhonya's gives you the ability to dive in, get your abilities off, zhonya's then get out in a team fight.

Rod of Ages gives ok ap and ok hp, but if you are building it 2nd it takes a very long time to reach it's max potential. Doesn't seem like a smart buy imo.

Yeah. I just prefer to use my Cinderhulk to the fullest.

Why do you have Rylai's Crystal Scepter? Ekko's passive and Q already slow (which last longer and slows no longer stack) and his W already stuns. This would only really affect your E and your ultimate.

Liandry's Torment may be a better option for some magic penetration and burn damage, though I'm not sure it's the best choice.

His W is really hard to actually place right even though I'm a Ekko main. The point of this build isn't the AP but the damage along with the tankyness.
