Does he have to get three stacks on his passive for a champ to be researched (the thing that lets your ult deal true damage)? It didn't really say in the update page

It says on his ultimate Passive, that deconstructing an enemy marks them as "researched" for seven seconds.

level your ult then if you activate your passive, your ult does true damage

Yep. also, his ult no longer applies the passive, so you have to get it through your basic spells
