It also doesn't help that the Silver 1 was laning against the Plat 3.

No necessarily a few golds could have super low mmr and the silver could have super high mmr and to off set the different they placed a Plat in the game.
At one time in leagues life there could have been a bronze player in diamond games.

ogp mmr is quite unreliable When my mmr was where it was supposed to be at I consistently got placed with extremely lower mmr team mates. Eventually I fell so hard to where I was near their mmr while still being plat.
LegacyDAP1 votesHow do you know if that Plat has low MMR if it's hidden? If that Tahm has really low MMR there is no reason he should be Plat 3, and if that Blitz has high MMR there is no reason he should be Silver 1.
Either way this is a problem with the ranking system or matchmaking. Neither are acceptable.
GGXJ92 votesyeah the matchmaking has been shit ive had silvers that belong in silver 50% win rates only in the game because someone on the other team was duoing and the kid was solo. We got hard shit on go figure. Matchmaking is 100% garbage. Challengers still get matched with diamond 4's rofl

I'm Silver 2 and just last night I was in a game against golds and plats. It's been happening more often as the season goes on. Must mean people are giving up on the role .

Dealth1 votesProbably was duo-queing with his Gold 2 ADC, and the mmr had to be raised for the opposite team mixed in with the fact the Plat 3 player had low mmr to begin with
