You dont go tanky with wukong if you are decent you wont need the tankstats because of his passive and the fact that you oneshot squishies faster then they can open their eyes after an engage. If you want to carry with wukong you go for an assasin build and building gauntlet just doesnt provide much damage. If you dont feel confident enough to play wu as a squishy champion then you can go for that route but I wouldnt recommend it.

option paralysis2 votesI have a lot of games on Wukong and I never built trinity force or iceborn gauntlet. TF you can, but giving 3800g for an item that doesn't give you that much AD is just bad. Same goes for iceborn, it cost 1k less but it doesn't give any AD and it's only good for 1 hit with your Q before you ult. Following that logic, it's obviously just better to get an AD item that will help you with everything.
I always build full AD with few exceptions if they have someone really fed or someone that can burst you, then I get dead mans plate or steraks gage, you can get GA also. My usual build is ravenous hydra - ghostblade - cleaver or maw if they have a fed AP - deaths dance or dead mans/steraks/GA. I hate seeing people not going hydra on Wukong, you need it for wave clear, you can split push really fast and you need the lifesteal too.

Eedat1 votesI haven't tried gauntlet on Wu, but I have tried Triforce. It's fantastic in lane and for split pushing but it's terrible for team fights because of the low AD. Overall I would say Cleaver is the absolutely most essential item on Wu. It gives him everything he wants. Don't forget the HP on Cleaver double dips into his passive which gives him armor and MR. That's why I wouldn't recommend a straight armor item with no HP like Gauntlet. It also gives zero AD which is a massive downside because Wu has awesome AD scaling
Another thing I would like to point out is that Hydra is pretty much for wave clear and that Deaths Dance completely outclasses it for everything else.

: beefy items with absurd amounts of damage and utility. I'd build them both if i were you, even if you waste some money on the 2nd rage passive. Both are pretty insane right now. After these two you have many build options.

Blue Moon Wolf1 votesIt's not a bad option per se, just not a very good since one he really doesn't need the AOE slow from 's passive, nor does he need that much armor when he can just get and be good on both the armor and MR fronts at once (also if you have and/or , then the CDR is sort of a waist).
I'd say if you are on a completely squishy team and you NEED to go tank, then it could be good since it's AOE gets bigger with more armor (coupled with his passive and extra armor and that would be a really large AOE slow) and will make it harder for the enemy team to reach your squishies, otherwise There are better options.
