Shyvana: Can we look at her ultimate and provide some QoL?
Hey guys,
I just want to visit
for a second and discuss some potential quality of life changes for her ultimate ability. I want to preface this by saying that I think she is currently in a pretty decent spot balance-wise but I doubt that I am the only person who thinks her ultimate is more than a ball of stats and a lunge. Lets take a quick second to discuss each aspect of her ultimate and propose some worthwhile changes that might make her feel stylistically like the almighty dragon she is supposed to be:
Q (twin fang, dragon form) - cleaves all enemies in front of her. I have yet to actually notice this effect ever successfully occurring on more than one target. Potentially she could benefit from a slightly visible range indicator on targets she is next to to show that her cleave will actually hit more than one target. Perhaps we could extend the cleave range or radius? This ability seems virtually useless in 99.9% of the situations and I wouldn't mind seeing it changed entirely for a more useful passive.
W (burnout, dragon form) - Leaves a burning trail on the ground behind her. This trail disappears way too fast to be useful. You get less than two seconds before the trail is gone and you've gotten maybe one or two ticks of burnout damage on the target. I wouldn't mind even if the damage on the trail was halved, but the trail should remain for the entire burnout duration. Maybe even add a weak slow to the trail alone? What about a speed boost for allies that walk in the trail?
E (flame breath, dragon form) - Fires in a cone on all targets in front of her. By far the best use of a dragon form passive. The spell damage is passable, but the ability to mark more than one target and then follow up with auto attacks is core to her very kit. This really needs no changes.
As it stands, her ultimate is little more than a defense boost and a poor knock-back or relocation tool. At the very least there should be some more interesting interaction than knocking an enemy champion back a short distance and completely overshooting them if you lunge the full distance.
Food for thought. Please let me know what you think below.
