NO MORE TANK YI BOISSSSS

And a buff to base damage to get the offensive builds rolling, which is pretty honest IMO.

Lol no tank Yi is still going to be a thing Yi is useless going full ad. He is just to squishy and has too many counters.

It might still be a thing, but not overpowered anymore. Also normal DPS Yi is now buffed, and he might be buffed further if need be.

He is just to squishy and has too many counters.

Technically what every Assassin champion should have & be.

Slamurai Jack3 votes

He loses about 10 true damage on hit late game with the exact same items. He's still going to penta you if you feed him and people are still going to cry about him.

Ralanr2 votes

Thus is the nature of MasterYi. But the less he builds tanky, the better.

Arakadia1 votes

Wether you feed him or not, he will eventually get full build.

He actually GAINS damage late game if he has at least 49 bonus Attack Damage. So Runes, Masteries and Titanic Hydra should cover that. It's just his early game was nerfed and Sterak's isn't as good anymore on him.

Your math sucks. The break even point is 268 bonus AD (assuming lvl 18). The formula is .20(117+X)+30 = .25X+40.

Tank Yi is still going to be a thing. 75% of his damage is just the on-hit damage of Titanic Hydra with the extreme multi-proccing of Devourer and his passive. Plus Guinsoo's.

Eh, a nerf is a nerf.

This change will not nerf Yi's potential DPS. I believe all it is going to do is delay his "online" point. I expect he will need another item or so before he becomes the Yi we know today. 4+ item Yi will still be the same destroyer we all know and love.

Yep. Tank Yi is just going to look like this now:

item 3931 item 3124 item 3156 item 3053 item 3742 item 3111

Honestly I think this will push item 3153 back in over item 3124 , since it's less reliant on flat stats.

But then again, I've always favoured BoRK over Rageblade, so I may be biased.

Bodkins Odds1 votes

Actually, the fact that it scales so much more on bonus AD ought to push the build even more towards item 3124 since it gives 5 more AD by itself, plus it gives 24 from the stacks. To say nothing of having the most AS of any single item.

I think both items have there ups and downs. Generally, when scalings aren't good (at least from my experience with mages like Brand/Vel'Koz), items that provide penetration/other damage sources tend to be stronger than flat stats. That's why I feel BoRK will be more popular.

For me personally though, I've always loved BoRK because it gives better sustain and dueling power. Rageblade is dependent on not dying so you can keep on fighting, and if people start buying one more AD item to make up for the damage loss, Yi will be more squishy.

No clue. Both items are strong.

For me, it's like this

Enemies are squishy? Build Rageblade. It offers a much better damage potential against enemies that do not have a lot of HP.

Enemies are tanky? Build BotRK. It offers a better dueling potential against those tanky opponents that you can't kill quickly enough.

tank/bruiser/on hit Yi is still going to be a thing when he reaches late game

but I'm happy that all the noobs are celebrating and reaching the conclusion that Yi is no more.

Wenderwall1 votes

Those noobs are in for surprise and will still cry. [zombie-brand-facepalm]

Wtf why am I being downvoted? D: everybody's asked for some common sense with "tank" builds for a while now...

Vekkna1 votes

People pissed about their freelo train running out of steam.

ZephyrDrake1 votes

or people will just build an AD item or two and then continue building tank... people do know that there are plenty of AD items that make you tankier nowadays right?

Vekkna2 votes

There's an AD item that makes you whatever you want to be.

EmEx2 votes

nope, there is no ad armor item

Photos of Ghosts1 votes

Yes, but no more effectiveness from Sterak+Titanic+SV or so.

I don't like it. Yi has always been meant to choose between glass or fighter builds, this change essentially destroys his options and makes him only viable with pure damage. Admittedly the tanky build is too strong but this change is overkill

MegaManYYZ1 votes

there will still be tank Yi, he just won't be as good as before.
