Just a reminder that post-rework malzahar

Is just a poorly implemented version of pre-rework malzahar.

Astonishingly riot managed to have all of the same skills and utility with the additional passive, but reduce player input.

The only things that the rework accomplished was taking the malzahar's damage out of the players hands and putting it into riot's, by means of automating it into the kit's mechanics instead of putting it on his actual abilities.

Quite the opposite actually. Malzahar now has to actually Do more than Click E on someone every time its off Cool Down in fights. Q and Ulti both refresh his E , meaning more thought and input is required of the player to maximize its CDP. His Voidlings were literally given more control of to the player as before, they spawned after 4 spells and did fuck all. Now you have more direct control over their spawning and what they are doing.

What do you think the current vision does? Click E on someone every time Q IS on CD in fights.

No, that's what you might call, forced pacing. You force the player to play at a specific pace, by punishing them for deviating from it. It makes it very predictable, not to mention frustrating when there was nothing more that could be done, because trying to play a little bit faster or trying to slow the fight down, only would've worked against you.

This is 100% false. Yes, you can now point and click the voidlings spawns, but nothing stopped you from tracking when your voidlings were going to spawn ( and a little pro tip, the voidling would always spawn between malzahar and the location of his 4th spell). So it was just as easy to control the spawn. On top of that, he could auto attack to direct the voidlings, and they were actually useful for farming, even if he didn't burn his E on minions. You could quickly push the lane out with E, or accurately target farm with auto attack control. Not to mention how important they were in his early game trades.

The only way in which this is true is that they raised the skill floor for voidling control. So if you were complete trash at controlling the voildings before then it's easier to control them now, but harder to control them if you were good at controlling them, because you've had the time frame which they are useful extremely restricted.

Kind of like how LB's mimics are automated in how they move.........

The most notable difference being that she doesn't rely on her mimic to make plays.

If anything it's more similar to what they did with her passive, where her tempo is now forced onto the player by riot adding in extremely important check points that you need to hit. It's almost more like playing guitar hero than an action strategy game. Just hit he keys at the exact pace, that they dictate, else you get points taken off.

Old LB -did- rely on the mimic to make plays - it actually lasted an appreciable amount of time, and it popped when LB was in trouble and actually needed to use it. Running the mimic into a bush then distorting/blinking out could make legitimately confusing plays and took skill for the LB to pull off. The current mimics just pale in comparison.

The current clones either last too short a duration to be useful (and conversely don't give that sense of satisfaction when they -do- manage to redirect an ult or summ spell), or are uncontrollable and move retardedly.

I get what they were going for with the passive, but it's just a much less satisfying kit overall.

I mean this is pretty much the same problem that the malz rework has.

There is no satisfaction when his kit works. Yet frustrating when it fails. Even though it's success or failure, often hinges on your voidlings staying alive (something you have no control over), yet you have such a restricted window for when they can be used, that you aren't even given the control over saving them until they might be safe to summon. Your forced to throw them out at the "correct" time, in your rotation, and hope they survive.

Just a reminder that old Malz consisted of point and click E'ing people in lane

Just a reminder that old Malz has much more flexibility than what you just described.
